In a method for alignment of an antenna () with an adjustable directional characteristic in a mobile station in a mobile radio system, the alignment process is based on determination of two variables as a function of the direction, with the first variable being characteristic of the signal strength () and the second variable being characteristic of the signal quality (), and their evaluation (). Furthermore, it is possible to make use of position information and alignment information relating inter alia to satellite-based navigation systems, and to take account of the alignment of the user.

A power amplifier arrangement having a distributed antenna is disclosed. The power amplifier arrangement has two or more signal paths which are coupled to a common input. Each signal path has an amplifier with a downstream antenna. The respective signal paths with the antenna are activated or deactivated by a control device as a function of the desired gain or output power. This results in high efficiency over a wide frequency range. The polar diagrams of the antenna branches preferably correspond to those of a single antenna.

Power amplifier arrangement having two or more antenna coupling respective amplifiers to a supply potential

A radio frequency arrangement is disclosed, having a first semiconductor body with an integrated circuit formed therein and also with first and second terminal locations. A second semiconductor body with a charge store integrated therein and with a first and second contact locations is arranged with its contact locations mutually facing the terminal locations of the first semiconductor body. The first terminal and the first contact location and also the second terminal and the second contact location are coupled to one another in order thus to form an integrated circuit and also a charge store for supplying the integrated circuit. Realizing the integrated circuit and the charge store separately enables a simple and cost-effective manufacturing procedure for the individual components.

Radio frequency arrangement, method for producing a radio frequency arrangement and use of the radio frequency arrangement

A radio frequency arrangement includes a first semiconductor body having on a first side a radio frequency connection location for emitting therefrom or for supplying thereto a radio frequency signal, and a low frequency signal connection location for emitting therefrom or for supplying thereto a low frequency signal. The arrangement also includes a flexible antenna carrier having a first side and a second side with a metalized region formed as an antenna, wherein the metalized region has a radio frequency contact location on or in the first side of the antenna carrier, and wherein the first side of the antenna carrier and the first side of the first semiconductor body are arranged such that they face one another. In addition, the radio frequency contact location on or in the first side of the antenna carrier is coupled to the radio frequency connection location on the first side of the semiconductor body. Also, a second semiconductor body having on a main side a connection location for supplying thereto or emitting therefrom a signal is arranged with its main side on the second side of the antenna carrier, and wherein the connection location thereof is electrically coupled to the low frequency connection location of the first semiconductor body through the antenna carrier.

Radio frequency arrangement and production method and also use

A power amplifier arrangement is disclosed which has two or more amplifiers connected in parallel. The amplifiers can be switched on and off independently of one another by means of control devices. At least one DC/DC converter is provided for supplying voltage to the amplifiers. A significant improvement in the efficiency of a power amplifier is achieved by the combination of the voltage supplied by means of a DC/DC converter for the amplifiers with distributed power gain. The arrangement is therefore particularly suitable for use in mobile radio transmission arrangements.

Power amplifier arrangement, and a method for amplification of a signal

The invention discloses a sigma-delta converter arrangement with a forward path including an amplifier and a quantizer with a clock input, and a feedback path with a D/A converter. The amplifier is coupled to an integrator which is in the form of a resonator with a tunable frequency and is actuated by a frequency synthesizer that also prescribes the clock rate of the quantizer. The synchronization between the quantizer and resonator results in highly accurate matching given inexpensive integratabiliy, which means that the sigma-delta converter is suitable for use in mobile radios, for example.

Sigma-delta converter arrangement

A circuit configuration for generating an output signal orthogonal to an input signal includes a delay device having an input to which an input signal is applied, an output at which an output signal is available, and a control input for controlling a time lag. A multiplier device has inputs being coupled to the input and the output of the delay device and has an output. A device for low-pass filtering is connected between the output of the multiplier device and the control input of the delay device.

The shielding device described is distinguished by the fact that it has a coating that at least partially surrounds the element that is to be electromagnetically shielded. As a result, the elements that are to be electromagnetically shielded can be optimally shielded with minimal outlay.

To keep the power consumption in the modulator-demodulator of a mobile radio as low as possible, the modulator-demodulator has a voltage-controlled oscillator. Downstream of which a divider chain having a plurality of series-connected dividers each with an even-numbered division factor is connected. Each of the dividers produces a carrier signal and a carrier signal that is orthogonal with respect thereto. A quadrature modulator for the received signal is connected to a divider of the divider chain that produces the carrier signal at the required carrier frequency. In addition, a first vector modulator is provided whose mixers are connected to the dividers of the divider chain that produce the carrier signals at the required carrier frequencies. Connected downstream of the first vector modulator is a further divider with an even-numbered division factor, and connected downstream of this is a second vector modulator for producing a transmitted signal.

Modulator-demodulator

Parasitic feedback is prevented in a transmitter, a modulator, or a demodulator from having an interfering influence on the circuit section that generates the mixed frequency. The circuit has a main oscillator and a subordinate oscillator connected downstream of the main oscillator. The main oscillator generates a signal having an x.sup.th harmonic that serves to excite the subordinate oscillator. Furthermore, a frequency divider is connected downstream of the subordinate oscillator. The frequency divider divides the frequency of an output signal of the subordinate oscillator by an integer divider value. The divider value differs from the value x.

Circuit configuration with main and subordinate oscillators

An amplifier array for high-frequency signals includes a differential amplifier with transistors capacitively coupled to the emitters. The differential amplifier therefore has high-pass characteristics. The input signals are each supplied to the differential amplifier through a respective high-pass. This results in an integratable amplifier array with strong damping for base-band signal components and band-pass characteristics for high-frequency useful signal components.

An amplifier array having digitally adjustable total gain and being constructed of a multiplicity of switchable individual amplifiers, includes at least two parallel, selectively triggerable gain paths having input and output sides. Each of the gain paths has an input amplifier and a switching amplifier being connected downstream of the input amplifier and being switchable in stages. A multiplexer has inputs connected to the output side of the gain paths and has an output. An amplifier array input is connected to the input side of the gain paths and an amplifier array output is formed by the output of the multiplexer. In a mobile radio receiver having the amplifier array, a total gain of the amplifier array is adjusted for setting an output signal of the mobile radio receiver at a constant level.

A integratable transmitter/receiver configuration for higher frequencies includes a reception path mixer multiplying a reception signal and a carrier frequency signal with one another. A controlled first intermediate frequency oscillator can be turned off by a switch control signal and has a frequency range being reversible by a first range control signal. A demodulator is connected downstream of the reception path mixer and receives the output signal of the first intermediate frequency oscillator both directly and phase-displaced by 90.degree.. A phase detector device is connected downstream of and controls the first intermediate frequency oscillator, and has a frequency range being reversible by a second range control signal. A controlled second intermediate frequency oscillator is connected parallel to the first intermediate frequency oscillator and can be turned on by the switch control signal. A transmission path mixer has one input being connected to the outputs of the first and second intermediate frequency oscillators and has another input receiving the carrier frequency signal. A modulator is connected downstream of the transmission path mixer, receives an input signal, and supplies a transmission signal.

Transmitter/receiver configuration for higher frequencies

A low-noise amplifier stage with reversible amplification includes a first series circuit of load paths of two transistors which is connected through a resistor to ground. A second series circuit or n series circuits of load paths of two transistors is likewise connected through a resistor to ground and is connected parallel to the first series circuit. Parallel-connected collectors of the first transistors of the series circuits are connected through an oscillator circuit to a supply voltage terminal. Two reference voltage sources are provided for supplying a first reference voltage to base terminals of the first transistors of the series circuits and for supplying a second reference voltage to base terminals of the second transistors of the series circuits. A reversing device connects a node point of the load paths of the transistors of the second series circuit to a supply voltage terminal as a function of a control signal.

Low-noise amplifier with reversible amplification in a cascode circuit

A circuit configuration includes a limiter amplifier having n series-connected limiter stages. The limiter stages are alternatingly direct-current coupled and alternating-current coupled. A detector circuit is connected to the limiter amplifier.
