Container handle

A lid for a container includes a central portion; a channel at a periphery of the central portion configured to form a substantially liquid-tight gasketless seal with the container, the channel including an inner skirt for contacting an inner surface of the container and an outer skirt; and a protrusion protruding from the inner skirt and being configured to form an interference fit with the inner surface of the container.

Container and lid

A handle useful in combination with a container includes a plastic strap or bail and a plastic sleeve thereon. The bail or strap of the handle is pivotably connected to the container, and the sleeve can be rotated about the bail. Structures are provided to distribute load forces between the bail and sleeve. Structures are also provided to retain the sleeve along the longitudinal axis of the bail. One or more clip members can be provided on the bail to engage the container. The clip member includes positioning elements to locate and engage the handle in a selected position with respect to the container. Preferred methods for assembling and using the apparatus (including the combination of the handle and container) are disclosed.

Container handle and related methods

A container lid is characterized by a flange having reinforcing ribs with their axes disposed non-perpendicularly to said flange. The reinforcing ribs may be relatively thin in comparison to prior art devices and permit an increased flexibility of the flange, providing improved shock absorption capabilities and ease of installation and removal of the lid, and improved automation thereof.

A fastening pin, or peg is partially inserted into an aligned aperture and attached thereto by a webbed flashing. In a one-step assembly operation, the pin is driven further into the aperture as the flashing is broken and driven through an aligned aperture of a second component.
