Pressure roller 8 rotates about axis 24 angled acutely to rotor shaft 3 to urge rotor shaft 3 into the gap 25 and also in the direction of axial bearing 13, which may be a permanent magnet bearing or pneumatic bearing. Spinning apparatus 1 thereby has a high natural frequency, which makes possible very high rotor speeds.

A spinning- or twisting-machine has an elongated spindle bank, a row of rotatable spindles supported on the bank, respective individual drive motors on the bank for each spindle, respective electrical control circuits connected to the respective motors and electrically energizable to power the respective motor, and a plurality of electricity-supply conductors extending along the bank past the spindles. A respective housing support part for each spindle carries the respective electrical control circuit and is provided with electrical-input contacts. A mount engaged between the housing part and the spindle bank allows movement of the housing part on the bank between a closed position in which it surrounds and protects the respective circuit and in which the contacts conductively engage the supply conductors and an open position in which it exposes the respective circuit and disengages the contacts from the supply conductors.

A pot spinning assembly comprises a spinning pot and a yarn guide extending into the spinning pot. A controlled drive causes a relative motion between the spinning pot and the yarn guide during a spinning process. Yarn is deposited in layers on the inner wall of the spinning pot and a spinning cake is formed. The spinning pot is displaced along its longitudinal central axis between an upper end position and a lower end position. An outlet opening of the yarn guide is located in the vicinity of the lower edge region of the spinning pot when it is in the upper end position. A yarn holder for receiving yarn from the spinning pot, and a substantially horizontal transport apparatus for moving the yarn holder to the spinning pot for rewinding the spinning cake onto the yarn holder is provided. The transport apparatus moves the yarn holder away from the spinning pot when it is in the upper end position.

A textile production system utilizes a textile spinning machine and a textile winding machine and a transport assembly for transporting the support members between the machines. The transport assembly includes a container having a plurality of vertically spaced, parallel shelf members. Each shelf member includes a plurality of parallel guide channels for receiving tube support members in a row therein. A displacing device is operable to displace the tube support members from a respective shelf member onto the aligned guide channels of a lifting device positioned at an opposite side of the shelf member. The lifting device is operable to transfer the tube support members to a reorienting travel device which reorients multiple, parallel rows of the tube support members into a single row for feeding of the tube support members to the delivery device of the spinning or winding machine.

A method and apparatus for controlling the yarn tension of yarn being cross-wound onto a bobbin on a textile winding machine. The amount of yarn on a supply package from which yarn is unwound is determined optoelectronically, gravimetrically or by measuring the yarn tension. The winding speed of the bobbin is adjusted in response to the determined yarn amount of the supply package so as to maintain the yarn tension substantially constant during unwinding. The winding speed of the bobbin can be controlled to follow a predetermined winding speed program which corresponds to the determined mass of the supply bobbin. To determine the yarn amount gravimetrically, the supply package is weighed by a balance device as it is conveyed thereover by a conveyor. The movement of the balance in response to the mass of the supply package can be electronically transmitted to a control device which prepositions a cam having a profile corresponding to the predetermined winding speed program. The rotation of the bobbin is then electronically controlled in response to the movement of a cam follower which follows the cam.

Method and apparatus for controlling the yarn tension of yarn being

A textile winding machine is provided having an operator accommodating package readying assembly on which individual tube support members are supported at a convenient height to thereby provide an operator with ready access to the tubes or yarn packages supported on the tube support members. The textile winding machine includes a common exit path component along which tube support members are transported after unwinding of the feed packages supported thereon at the winding units of the textile winding machine and an entry conveyor device for raising the tube support members in spaced apart manner from the common exit path component with the tubes or yarn packages out of interference with one another to a feed package re-supply support assembly extending longitudinally along the textile winding machine at a height generally at the waist level of an average operator. During regular re-supply rounds, for example, an operator can conveniently transfer fresh feed packages from a rolling container or other storage device to the empty tube support members supported at waist level and the operator can manually prepare the yarn ends of any partial feed packages as well. A return conveyor allows recirculation of tube support members in a closed loop.

A transport system for transporting independently movable tube support members between the winding stations of a textile winding machine and a manual re-supply location is provided. The transport system includes a plurality of individual exit paths, each extending past a winding station and leading to a discharge path along which the tube support members are discharged to the manual re-supply location, and a delivery path for delivering the tube support members from the manual re-supply location to the winding stations. Also, the transport system includes a manual re-supply assisting assembly for assisting an operator with a manual re-supply operation in which full yarn packages are manually loaded onto empty tube support members., The assisting assembly preferably includes a loading guide device for guiding full yarn packages during downward travel thereof onto empty tube support members. The loading guide device includes at least two positioning members cooperating together to guide a yarn package with at least one of the positioning members being movable between a cooperating position and a displaced position in which it is laterally displaced to thereby permit relative movement of the loading guide device and the tube support members without interference between the positioning members and the yarn packages which have previously been loaded on the tube support members. Preferably, the assisting assembly includes sensors for distinguishing between empty tubes and tubes still having remaining yarn thereon and an automatic tube removal component removes tubes from the tube support members.

A machine has a frame, a rotatable configuration of two partners in the form of a bobbin cylinder and a bobbin resting on the bobbin cylinder for winding and unwinding yarn or tape-like material, one of the partners being firmly attached to the frame, and a carrier being movable relative to the one partner for supporting the other of the partners. An apparatus for controlling at least one of contact pressure and relative motion of the partners of the rotatable configuration includes an electromechanical power proportional or current proportional torque adjuster connected to the carrier, and a control device connected to the adjuster for controlling the contact pressure with the adjuster to provide slip between the partners in ribbon zones.

A spinning machine has an electric motor for rotating a bobbin-supporting spindle to build a package of yarn thereon and a funnel for guiding yarn onto the spindle. The spindle is rotatingly driven by an electric motor and the electric motors of the spindle and the funnel are commonly connected to a frequency control means which is, in turn, connected to an electrical power supply means. The torque of the funnel electric motor is a function of a characteristic of the funnel in accordance with the relationship that the funnel is rotated by its electric motor at a lower rate relative to the contemporaneous rate of rotation of the spindle. The apparatus can include a switch assembly selectively movable between leads for selectively connecting the funnel electric motor to the frequency control apparatus to operate the motor or to the electrical power supply means to brake the motor.

An apparatus for transporting cops and cop tubes includes a plurality of circular-disk-type carriers having two opposite sides. Spindle bearings each have a bearing portion penetrating and protruding beyond a respective one of the carriers toward one of the opposite sides of a respective one of the carriers. Spool spindles each are rotatably supported in and protrude beyond a respective one of the bearings toward another of the opposite sides of a respective one of the carriers for carrying a cop or a tube. The carriers have substantially planar lower surfaces each surrounding a respective one of the protruding bearing portions. A transport apparatus movable in a given transport direction has a surface operatively connected to one of the opposite sides of each of the carriers. Another of the opposite sides of each of the carriers is slidingly guided in a guide rail.
