A smoothly operating tilting device ( ) for a support plate ( ) of a motor-adjustable motor vehicle exterior mirror is disclosed. A drive motor ( ) is furnished, for each of the both, orthogonal to each other (although arrangeable in any special disposition) tilting directions, which are connected to, at least in parts, flexible positioning rods ( ).
