An external unit for an implantable neuro stimulator system and a method of operating the same, comprising an external coil inductively couplable to an implant coil of an implantable neural stimulator unit when in close proximity to each other. An RF-signal generating module for generating and outputting an RF-signal to the coil for inductive power and/or data transfer to the implantable neural stimulator unit, a measurement unit connected to the coil for measurement of an electrical parameter at the coil and a controller connected to the measurement unit and comprising a comparator and a storage for storing the electrical parameter. The controller is configured to operate at least in normal operating and corrective action mode, and when in the normal operating mode, to repeatedly measure the electrical parameter with the measurement unit, determine with the comparator a change of the measured electrical parameter in relation to the stored electrical parameter switch the controller into a corrective action mode when the change exceeds a threshold; and otherwise modify the stored electrical parameter by the measured electrical parameter.

External unit for an implantable neuro stimulator system

A signal processor is described for communication with an implanted medical device. An external processor transmits to the implanted medical device an implant data signal having a sequence of HI and LOW logic states at a fixed data bit rate. The pulse width durations of the HI and LOW logic states is adjustable in response to feedback telemetry data from the implantable medical device.

Pulse width adaptation for inductive links

An implantable microphone is described for use in hearing prosthesis systems. A cylindrical microphone housing has opposing circular cylinder ends and an interior volume containing an incompressible housing liquid. At least one housing membrane is on one of the cylinder ends and is in contact with the housing liquid and moveable in response to an acoustic signal outside the housing. An acoustic-electric transducer is coupled to the housing membrane for converting movement of the housing membrane into a corresponding electrical microphone signal.

Non-pressure sensitive implantable microphone

A power supply arrangement for an implantable electronic system is described. An MRI power supply arrangement cooperates with an implantable power supply circuit to provide a high output impedance for implanted circuitry during magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).
