A height adjustment apparatus for a print carriage comprises a support for supporting the print carriage and a moving mechanism. The support has an upper support surface configured to slidingly engage a surface of the print carriage. The height of the support surface in a first direction increases in a second direction, perpendicular to the first direction. The moving mechanism is configured to move the support in the second direction, wherein when the support is moved in the second direction, the print carriage surface is configured to slide relative to the support surface to move the print carriage in the first direction.

Print carriage height adjustment

Examples of print media cutting procedures and devices are described. The print media is cut with a first cutting module while the print medium is advanced through the device. The print media is then reversed before being cut with a second cutting module. The first cutting module can be moved laterally at the same time as the print medium is moved in the reverse direction.

Cutting print media

Disclosed is a cutter module to be used with a printing apparatus. The cutter module comprises a blade driving mechanism; and a rotary cutting blade driven by the blade driving mechanism. The blade driving mechanism comprises: a clutch mechanism selectively to enable the blade driving mechanism to drive the rotary cutting blade in a forward cutting direction or a backward direction. Also disclosed is a printing system comprising the cutter module and a method to be used with the cutter module.

A printable medium support for a printer comprises a support element to support a printable medium, wherein the support element is movable between a protruding configuration to support the printable medium, and a retracted configuration in which the support element is at least partially retracted in a first direction. The printable medium support comprises an actuating element to move the support element between the protruding configuration and the retracted configuration.

A cutter arrangement for media processing equipment, including a cutter module to be arranged on a shaft via a dedicated one of a number of transmission devices, at least one of the cutter module and the transmission devices comprising a registration feature to guide a user to arrange the cutter module on the dedicated one of the number of transmission devices.

A cutter assembly for a printable medium comprises a cutter to cut the printable medium, a trench adjacent to the cutter, and a trench cover, the trench cover at least partially covering the trench. The trench cover is movable between a supporting configuration to support the printable medium, and an open configuration to receive portions of the printable medium in the trench. The cutter assembly comprises an elastic element for biasing the trench cover towards the supporting configuration. The cutter comprises an engaging element and the engaging element engages the trench cover to move the trench cover from the supporting configuration towards the open configuration.

A media-sheet stacking system for stacking media sheets on a device output tray comprises a kicker to advance a media sheet along the output tray by pushing a trailing edge of the media sheet as it exits the device, and a movable element arranged to face the output tray across a space that receives media sheets exiting the device. A drive mechanism is provided to drive the movable element in the direction of advance of the media sheet along the output tray.

Media-sheet stacking systems

Apparatus to provide heated gas to punted media. The apparatus includes a housing including: an inlet to receive gas from a fan; and an outlet defining at least one slot shaped nozzle to provide heated gas to printed media, the housing defining a direct path between the inlet and the outlet. The apparatus also includes a heater positioned within the housing to heat gas from the inlet.

A handoff mechanism for use with a media stacker of a media production apparatus comprises a plurality of kicker units () arranged across a width of the handoff mechanism. A common drive mechanism () is provided to move the plurality of kicker units () between a closed position and an open position. Each kicker unit (), when in the closed position during use, applies a pressure to any media sheets that are already stacked in a stacker tray () while a new media sheet is being fed to the stacker tray. The pressure provided by each kicker unit () is independent of the pressure provided by the other kicker units ().

Handoff mechanism for a media production apparatus

A media-sheet stacking system () for stacking media sheets on a device output tray (OT) comprises a kicker () to advance a media sheet along the output tray by pushing a trailing edge of the media sheet as it exits the device, and a movable element () arranged to face the output tray across a space that receives media sheets exiting the device. A drive mechanism () is provided to drive the movable element in the direction of advance of the media sheet along the output tray.

An example method for printing in accordance with the present disclosure is provided. The method comprises detecting a selection of a manual mode for a print job, detecting that a stacker is in a manual mode condition, printing the print job and outputting the print job to the stacker.

In one example, a connector includes: first and second pins protruding from opposite sides of a panel or a frame; first and second receivers on opposite sides of the other of the panel or the frame to receive the first and second pins; a first distance between the receivers shorter than a second distance between the protruding ends of the pins such that the first pin may be inserted into the first receiver and then the second pin inserted into the second receiver but both pins may not be inserted simultaneously into the receivers; and a movable retainer integral to the panel and the frame to retain the pins in the receivers. The retainer is movable between a first position to limit axial travel of the pins in the receivers and a second position to not limit axial travel of the pins in the receivers.
