A hub, on which compressing of the inner central bore is to be minimized during the winding up of an information medium in tape form under high winding pressure. According to one embodiment, this is achieved by an outer hub ring having a strong profile being provided alongside the outer windung area and by there also being elastically deformable intermediate elements between outer hub ring and inner hub ring. Such elements provide for a compression ratio of the compressed diameters of a the inner to the outer ring of less than 1:4. In the case of a further embodiment, variously shaped openings or notches, which are distributed evenly over the entire circumference, are provided on both sides of the hub between its outer circumference and inner circumference. In a still further embodiment the elastically deformable intermediate elements consist of webs running in radial and circumferential directions and residual portions between openings provided between the periphery of the outer ring and said webs.

Multipack for magnetic tapes wound onto hubs

The invention relates to parallelepipedal packaging containers for recording media in tape form which are wound up onto hubs provided with internal bores and are stacked one on top of the other, comprising a bottom part, a top part and side parts, which are joined to one another by means of molded-on film hinges, and it being possible for a hub support to be pushed through the internal bores of the hubs.

A ring part and individual winding hub combination comprises a single-flange ring part with or without spring elements on the receiving circumference for the internal bore of the associated winding hub, which has or does not have spring elements between the internal bore and outer circumference. Receiving circumferential rim and internal bore may expediently be designed with intermeshing toothings.

Winding hub device for tapes

A description is given of a cuboidal multipack for vertically stacked magnetic recording media, comprising a rectangular pallet, a baseplate and top plate and wound roll sets stacked between two intermediate plates in each case, the tape rolls being wound up on flangeless winding hubs provided with internal bores, through which a hub sleeve is inserted, the pack being protected by edges and side parts and a stretch film being drawn around the entire unit. To be able to stack a large number of wound rolls one on top of the other without the risk of damaging the edges of the tape rolls, each intermediate plate, which is provided on its upper side and under side with a ring groove, is supported by means of the end face of the hollow-cylindrical hub sleeve by the next-lower intermediate plate, so that merely the wound pack accommodated in one set is placed with its weight able to bear on an intermediate plate. The intermediate plates may include on their outer edges projections and grooves assigned to them, so that they are able to be transported stacked one on top of the other on the same pallet in return shipment. It is assured by the material selection of the multipack that the entire pack part can be brought into a clean room without the risk of dust and can be taken off with little effort.

Reusable multipack for stacked wound rolls

A hollow-cylindrical supporting core for pancakes which is produced from recyclable plastic by injection molding is described, the arms, which may be angled off, which extend from the gating point and run to the inside diameter of the supporting core remaining in place after demolding of the injection mold and being suitable as holding grips for the supporting core.

Supporting core for wound-up recording media

Parallelepipedal packaging containers, suitable for return transport, for wound-up magnetic recording media, produced from a one-part or multi-part blank having a bottom and top as well as side parts, which are joined to one another by means of foldable joining tabs and containing a hub support extending from the top to the bottom. The bottom and the top each have a circular central clearance through which a one-part or multi-part hollow-cylindrical hub support is inserted, onto which the wound media are fitted in a stackable manner. For assembly of the package from the folded-up state, the hub support has a locking snap-in device on at least one end face.

A tensioning device for hubs, comprising a winding shaft having rotatably and drivably mounted on it individual winding elements as hub holder for hubs with inner cylindrical bores, the tensioning device including measures for locking the hubs in the axial direction on each individual winding element, wherein the hub (1) includes along its inner circumference (3), alongside the inner bore (5) and uniformly distributed over the circumference, a multiplicity of resilient elements (2), which have the form of a bent-off arm which extends in the radial direction from the inner circumference (3) of the hub (1) and is bent off in the circumferential direction, the end (4) of each resilient arm being at a distance from the bending point of the next-following arm.

Hub tensioning device

The multipack for pancakes of relatively large diameter comprises two end plates (1, 2) and an intermediate plate (4), anchored on which is a tube (3) on which the pancakes are arranged in series with cushioning disks placed in between. The end plates include fixing means on their narrow sides for stacking a plurality of the multipacks described on top of and next to one another on one and the same pallet. A film of plastic is drawn over each multipack and each multipack is held together by securely lashed straps, which are drawn over the end plates.

Multipack for wound rolls

A right-parallelepipedal multipack for vertically stacked wound rolls, comprising a rectangular pallet (1), a rectangular base plate (3), located on said pallet and provided with a multiplicity of clearances (2), an identically constructed intermediate plate (5) and a likewise identical top plate (6), a multiplicity of wound rolls (4) respectively stacked in-between and means (7, 8, 9) for fixing the pack and the wound rolls, wherein the wound rolls are recording media (10) in tape form which are wound-up on flangeless hubs (11) which are provided with inner bores and through which there is fitted a hub sleeve (8) which is mounted non-displaceably in the clearances (2) of the base plate (3), intermediate plate (5) and top plate (6), and a cover (9), provided with a ring, being adapted to fit onto the upper end of the hub sleeve (8) above the top plate, the lateral four corners of the pack being secured by vertically attached corner parts (7) and a stretch film (12 ) being drawn around the side parts of the pack.

A winding shaft is described, having self-tensioning individual winding elements (6) for winding mandrels mounted on it in such a way that they can be driven, which include in each case in an annular groove (14) of each individual winding element a compliant tensioning means, the outside diameter of which is greater than the inside diameter of the winding mandrels. The winding means comprises a plurality of cylindrical-annular segments (2) arranged on the circumference of the individual winding element in the annular groove, the end faces (13) of which segments are beveled and are mounted radially displaceably on the inner face of the intermediate pieces (3), there being seated between the inside of the segments and the bottom of the annular groove a spring element, comprising either a leaf spring or a plurality of helical springs with ball thrust pieces.

Winding mandrel tensioning means

Abstract of the Disclosure: A flangeless stackable hub, on which compressing of the inner central bore is to be prevented during the winding up of an information medium in tape form under high winding pressure. According to one embodiment, this is achieved by an outer hub ring having a double-T profile being provided alongside the outer winding area and by there also being elastically deformable annular intermediate elements between outer hub ring and inner hub ring. In the case of another embodiment, variously shaped openings or notches, which are distributed evenly over the entire circumference, are provided on both sides of the hub between outer circumference and inner circumference. In addition, the hub contains alongside its inner circumference on both sides axial deformations, in order to avoid a shifting or twisting when hubs are stacked one on top of the other (FIG. 2, FIG. 4).

The invention relates to a demagnetizing device for magnetic recording media, so-called pancakes, wound up in the form of a tape, which device consists of a cylindrical coil (1), the field distribution (3) of which extends essentially parallel to the winding plane (2) of the recording medium (4), while the pancakes (4) can be inserted into the coil (1) in the axial direction by a lifting device (5). The compact form enables an entire pancake stack to be demagnetized at the same time (FIGURE).

A novel packaging for several tape-form recording media (5) wound on reel cores (6) or spools provided with internal bores consists of two pallets (1, 2) and optionally hubs (3) which are raised in the axial center (10) and of which the diameter corresponds to the clear internal diameter of the bores of the reel cores (6). The packaging can be sealed by a shrink film (4) which can be pulled thereover. The cuboid pallets (1, 2) which can be joined together have groove-like notches (7) at their edges, the interior of the pallets reproduces the outer shape of the pancakes (5) and the weld seam (8) of the shrink film (4) is formed in one of the notches (7). The pallets (1, 2) also have window-like cutouts (9) on their four narrow sides. Pallets as well as the hub (3) passing through the axial center (10) of the pancakes are preferably composed of Styropore (FIG. 1).

Multiple packaging for magnetic tapes wound on cores

A video cassette consists of an upper cassette part (8) and a lower cassette part (6), at least one reel which is located therein and onto which magnetic tape can be wound, in which a pressing spring resiliently loads the tape reels (1, 2) in the direction of a defined operating position, the hub (3) of the tape reels having on its side facing the upper cassette part a centrally arranged sleeve-shaped recess (11). According to the invention, there is seated in the recess a helical spring (10), which is resiliently supported in the recess and in the other end of which there is fitted a pin (12), which consists of abrasion-resistant material and the upper end (7) of which bears against the upper cassette part (8) in the assembled cassette state (FIG. 2).
