Induction heating device for molding parts with small dimensions

A method for manufacturing a quadrangular shell having five faces and non-developable trihedral connectors between the faces. Plies having continuous fibers are cut to cover the five faces of the shell outside of the trihedral connector zones. Four connector components consolidated in the shape of the trihedral connectors are obtained. Each of the components includes an integration zone between the plies. Plies are positioned and laid up. The four consolidated components are inserted in the trihedral connection zones by inserting the integration zones between two plies to form an assembly obtain a preform. The preform is placed in a tool and the consolidation of the stack of fibrous plies is performed by subjecting the assembly to a predetermined pressure/temperature cycle.

Method and tool for manufacturing a quadrangular shell made of composite material

A method for making a three-dimensional composite part with a thermoplastic matrix and continuous reinforcement. A pre-impregnated fibrous perform is obtained by three-dimensional knitting. The preform is placed on the punch or in the matrix of a tooling, defining between them a sealed closed cavity. The tooling is closed so as to apply a first pressure to the preform. The cavity is brought to the melting temperature of the polymer impregnating the preform by maintaining the first pressure. The cavity comprising the preform is cooled to a temperature suitable for demolding by maintaining the second pressure. The mold is opened and the part is demolded.

Method and device for manufacturing a composite part with a complex shape

A tooling for forming a sheet of glass includes a forming die made of electrically conductive material and a heating unit, distant from the forming die. The forming die includes a molding surface, a support to hold a sheet of glass away from and opposite the molding surface, and an induction circuit having an inductor extending in a cavity in the forming die. The heating unit includes a surface configured to produce thermal radiation opposite the molding surface, and an induction circuit having an inductor extending in a cavity of the heating unit. A connector connects the induction circuits to a high-frequency current generator.

A device to thermoform a composite component and injection over-moulding a shape on one face of the composite component in a mould. The mould includes a paired shaping die and punch between them defining a closed cavity. The shaping die is mounted on a transfer device. The transfer device includes a loading/unloading station to load/unload a blank onto/from the shaping die, and an injection and mould-closure station to close the mould and to inject between the punch and the shaping die. A device to cure/consolidate a textile preform pre-impregnated with polymer. A matrix, without any heating or cooling means, includes a molding face that reproduces the shape of the textile preform and an assembly interface. A sealed bagging of the preform on the matrix. A method for die casting a metal alloy in a cavity, implementing a mold comprising an induction heater to heat the molding surfaces of the cavity. The cavity is filled with the metal alloy by injection and preheated to a nominal preheating temperature T1. The metal in the cavity is solidified. The mold is opened and the part is ejected therefrom. The molding surfaces of the cavity are heated by induction while the part is no longer in contact with said surfaces. The molding surfaces of the cavity are sprayed, the mold being opened, by a release agent. The mold is closed and the cavity is heated the temperature T1.

The device comprises a die, an induction heating device and a cooling device to cool the die. The invention concerns a device for heating a surface by induction, in particular for molding or transforming a part made of thermoplastic or thermosetting composite material. The device comprises a body having at least one portion made of magnetic and heating conducting material wherein is provided a plurality of closed cavities proximate the surface to be heated, each cavity surrounding a field winding. The heat produced by induction on the walls of the cavity is transferred by conduction to the heating surface. The distance between the cavities and the position of said cavities relative to the heating surface are such that the heating is substantially uniform on said surface.
