A technique facilitates completion and stimulation of a reservoir, e.g. a lower tertiary reservoir. Initially a wellbore is drilled into the tertiary reservoir. Following drilling, the wellbore is completed by deploying completion equipment constructed to facilitate stimulation of the tertiary reservoir. The completion equipment may be operated in conjunction with a stimulation system to stimulate the tertiary reservoir and thus to enhance retrieval of hydrocarbon fluids contained within the tertiary reservoir.

System and method for completing and stimulating a reservoir

A technique enables an efficient, dependable approach to gravel packing lateral wellbores. The technique employs alternate path gravel placement technology which includes alternate path equipment deployed along a gravel pack screen positioned in an open hole lateral wellbore disposed above a lower lateral wellbore. A crossover system is positioned in the lateral wellbore, and the alternate path is provided by connecting a shunt tube or other appropriate alternate path equipment to the crossover system. A flow of gravel slurry is directed along an exterior of the gravel pack screen through the alternate path equipment to enable uniform distribution of the gravel pack along the gravel pack screen.

Gravel pack completions in lateral wellbores of oil and gas wells

A tool is actuated in a well based on one or more issued commands being interpreted and implemented by the apparatus. The apparatus comprises a power generation module that multiplies pressure delivered downhole to enable actuation of the tool without requiring delivery of the higher actuation pressure along the entire wellbore. An actuation module may be used in combination with the power generation module to control operation of the power generation module in response to command signals sent downhole.

Setting tool for hydraulically actuated devices

A dynamic inflatable sealing device for maintaining the pressure within an inflatable element at least substantially equal to the pressure in the annulus to maintain the inflatable element in a sealing position. The dynamic sealing device includes an inflatable element forming an internal chamber, the inflatable element expandable to sealing engagement with a wall, and a dynamic valve mechanism in operational connection between the internal chamber and exterior of the internal chamber substantially communicating the pressure external of the inflatable element to the internal chamber.
