Disclosed are techniques for wireless communication. In an aspect, a first user equipment (UE) performs a limited beam sweep of one or more transmit beams on a second frequency band in an estimated direction from the first UE to the second UE, wherein the estimated direction is based on one or more parameters received over a previously established signaling radio bearer (SRB) on a first frequency band and/or a device-to-device discovery procedure performed on the first frequency band, receives, over the SRB, a confirmation that a data radio bearer (DRB) has been established on the second frequency band with at least one transmit beam of the one or more transmit beams, and sends, to the second UE, a data flow over the DRB on the second frequency band using the at least one transmit beam.

Beam sweeping on millimeter wave frequencies for device-to-device communications

Disclosed are techniques for wireless communication. In an aspect, a first user equipment (UE) establishes a radio resource control (RRC) connection for a communication session with a second UE, establishes a signaling radio bearer (SRB) for the communication session with the second UE on a first frequency band, sends, to the second UE over the SRB on the first frequency band, a first RRC message to establish a data radio bearer (DRB) for the communication session on a second frequency band, the first RRC message including one or more parameters for establishing the DRB on the second frequency band, and configures the DRB on the second frequency band based on the one or more parameters in the first RRC message and/or a device-to-device discovery procedure performed in the first frequency band.

Establishing radio bearers on millimeter wave frequencies for device-to-device communications

Aspects relate to mechanisms for sidelink reservation across frequency bands. In some examples, a sidelink device may be configured to communicate over a first frequency band (e.g., a sub-6 gigahertz frequency band) and a second frequency band (e.g., a millimeter wave frequency band) with one or more other sidelink devices. The sidelink device may further be configured to perform cross-link resource reservation for a sidelink transmission in which a resource reservation message transmitted on the first frequency band indicates reserved resources within the second frequency band for the sidelink transmission. The sidelink device may then transmit sidelink control information (SCI) within a sidelink control channel on the second frequency band and user data traffic corresponding to the SCI within a sidelink data channel on the second frequency band.

Sidelink reservation across frequency bands

Certain aspects of the present disclosure are directed to a method for wireless communication by a network entity. The method generally includes generating a configuration message for a user-equipment (UE) to perform one or more reference signal (RS) measurements on one or more resources of a sidelink channel, transmitting the measurement configuration message, receiving a measurement report indicating results of the one or more RS measurements, and transmitting a scheduling message indicating resources for sidelink transmission on the sidelink channel.

Measurement for sidelink communications

Disclosed are techniques for transmit/receive (TX/RX) beam association in millimeter wave (mmW) vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communications. In conventional wireless systems, a node (e.g., gNB) that manages wireless resources is typically stationary. This means that transmissions from the network node over the same TX beam using the same antenna array orientation can be assumed to be quasi-collocated (QCLed) and communications may be established using fixed-to-mobile beam management approach. However, if the transmitting node is mobile, a quasi-collocation (QCL) assumption may not be valid. To address issues due to mobility of the nodes that manage wireless resources, a mobile-to-mobile beam management approach is proposed.

In an aspect, a vehicle apparatus of a vehicle obtains, based on sensor data from one or more vehicle sensors communicatively coupled to the vehicle, intra-lane position data relative to the vehicle, the intra-lane position data indicating at least one lateral distance between at least one side of a primary vehicle and at least one lane reference point. The vehicle apparatus transmits the intra-lane position data to one or more neighboring entities. In another aspect, a vehicle management device obtains intra-lane position data that indicates at least one lateral distance between at least one side of at least one observed vehicle of a plurality of neighboring vehicles and at least one lane reference point, and instructs at least one vehicle of the plurality of neighboring vehicles to perform one or more actions based on the intra-lane position data.

Aspects of the disclosure relate to mechanisms for sidelink communication across frequency bands. In some examples, a wireless communication device may be configured to communicate over a first frequency band (e.g., a 'sub-6 GHz band') and a second frequency band (e.g., a 'millimeter wave band') with one or more other wireless communication devices. The wireless communication device may further be configured to perform cross-link scheduling of a transmission in which sidelink control information (SCI) is transmitted within a physical sidelink control channel (PSCCH) on the first frequency band and data corresponding to the SCI is transmitted within a physical sidelink shared channel (PSSCH) on the second frequency band.

Sidelink communication across frequency bands

Methods, systems, computer-readable media, and apparatuses for vehicle emergency vehicle-to-anything (V2X) notification based on sensor fusion are presented. In some embodiments, a vehicle may receive an indication of an issue or impairment of the vehicle or an occupant of the vehicle, including the driver. Using information from sensors within the vehicle, an on-board processor may determine the nature of the impairment. Information about the nature of the impairment may then be transmitted, using V2X notification, to neighboring vehicles and/or an infrastructure entity (e.g., a base station, a roadside unit, a radio tower, and/or a central application server). The neighboring vehicles may then negotiate using V2X communication with the impaired vehicle and the other neighboring vehicles and/or be directed by the infrastructure entity to proceed using a negotiated course of action that accounts for the nature of the impairment in the impaired vehicle.

Techniques and apparatus for peer discovery using directional transmissions are described. The techniques described herein may be used by wireless nodes (e.g., vehicles or UEs incorporated in vehicles) for efficient peer discovery in V2X systems.

Enhanced discovery resource configuration with staggering for directional vehicle to anything (V2X)

A method and apparatus for link adaptation in a satellite communication system, wherein a satellite is configured to receive reverse-link (RL) communications from a user terminal (UT) via a service link and retransmit the RL communications to a satellite access network (SAN) via a feeder link. The SAN may select a reference location for the UT within a footprint of the satellite, and determine a set of operating parameters for the RL communications to achieve a target power efficiency of the satellite based on the reference location. The SAN may dynamically adjust one or more of the operating parameters, while maintaining the target power efficiency of the satellite, based at least in part on channel conditions in at least one of the service link, the feeder link, or a combination thereof. Among other advantages, the method disclosed herein may optimize RL communications based on the capabilities of the satellite.
