An assembly for the dissipation of heat from an illumination structure of the type which includes one or more LEDs and a driver assembly operatively connected to the one or more LEDs. A primary heat sink is disposed in heat transferring relation to the components of a remainder of the illumination structure. A mount, also formed of a heat conductive material, is disposed in supporting or connected relation to the driver and in heat transferring relation to the primary heat sink. A compartment structure includes a hollow interior chamber, having heat insulating fluid disposed therein, and disposed in adjacent and/or aligned relation with the one LED so as to insulate it from heat generated by the driver assembly and other components of the light structure. The mount, primary heat sink and compartment structure are cooperatively disposed so as to define a flow path of heat away from the one or more LEDs to an area where it is dissipated exteriorly of the illumination structure.

A driver assembly for solid state lighting that includes at least one LED which includes a base element having an upper surface, a lower surface, an outer peripheral edge extending about a periphery thereof and a perimeter region defined adjacent to the outer peripheral edge. A plurality of operative components are secured to the base element and are collectively operative at least 40 watts in order control current flow to the LED. The plurality of operative components include primary heat generating components and heat sensitive components, with the primary heat generating components disposed on the perimeter region of the base element and the heat sensitive component disposed in spaced relation from the peripheral region at which the primary heat generating components are disposed. The primary heat generating components are disposed in a vertical orientation wherein a vertical surface that extends away from the base element has a greater surface area than a horizontal surface that confronts the base element. Further provided is a heat sink which has a pair of vertical elements formed of a thermally conductive material, the vertical elements extending upward along part of the outer peripheral edge of the base element in confronting, heat receiving relation to the vertical surfaces of the primary heat generating components.

An oil spill recovery vessel () equipped with a skimmer unit () moves forward through an oil spill () at a normal skimming speed with its skimming unit operating to recover oil, and simultaneously transfers recovered oil through an oil transfer hose () to a bladder () being towed by the vessel using a towing cable (). The oil transfer hose () and towing cable () attach to the vessel in substantially the same location situated approximately on the fore-aft centerline of the vessel and at least one third of the vessel's length from the stern or more forwardly an oil transfer bollard () of the vessel. In one embodiment the oil transfer hose () and towing cable () attach to an oil transfer bollard unit () comprising a towing post and an oil transfer pipe. The oil transfer bollard () can also be used to transfer oil from a towed unit to the vessel.
