Treadmill

A treadmill includes a frame having a front end and a rear end, substantially opposite the front end; a front shaft assembly coupled to the frame proximate the front end of the frame; a rear shaft assembly coupled to the frame proximate the rear end of the frame; a running belt disposed about the front and rear shaft assemblies; and a bumper coupled to the frame proximate the running belt such that the bumper is disposed between the running belt and the frame. The bumper includes a partially rounded surface and a substantially flat surface. In use, the partially rounded surface and the substantially flat surface of the bumper are configured to selectively engage and restrict movement of the running belt towards at least a portion of the frame.

Systems and methods for restricting transverse movement of a treadmill belt

A manually powered treadmill includes a front rotatable element and a rear rotatable element coupled to a frame; a bearing assembly at least partially supporting one of the front or rear rotatable elements; and a running belt disposed about the front and rear rotatable elements. The bearing assembly includes a predefined low viscosity bearing fluid. The running belt defines a non-planar running surface. The running belt includes a first endless belt and a plurality of slats, each slat having a first side and a second side and coupled to the first endless belt. Each slat in the plurality of slats defines at least one aperture, and the at least one aperture is structured to receive a fastener to facilitate coupling to the first endless belt.

Treadmill with intermediate member

A treadmill includes a frame having a front end and a rear end, substantially opposite the front end; a front shaft assembly coupled to the frame proximate the front end of the frame; a rear shaft assembly coupled to the frame proximate the rear end of the frame; a running belt disposed about the front and rear shaft assemblies; and a bumper coupled to the frame proximate the running belt such that the bumper is disposed between the running belt and the frame. In use, the bumper is configured to selectively restrict movement of the running belt towards at least a portion of the frame.

A treadmill is provided according to various embodiments. The treadmill includes a first rotatable element coupled to the frame; a second rotatable element coupled to the frame; an intermediate member coupled to the frame that is disposed intermediate the first rotatable element and the second rotatable element and coupled to at least one of the first rotatable element and the second rotatable element; a running belt disposed about the first and second rotatable elements, the running belt defining a non-planar surface; and a safety device coupled to the intermediate member. The safety device is operable to substantially prevent rotation of at least one of the first rotatable element and the second rotatable element in a first rotational direction and permit rotation of the at least one of the first rotatable element and the second rotatable element in a second rotational direction opposite the first rotational direction.

A treadmill is provided. The treadmill includes a frame; a first side support coupled to and extending substantially vertically upwards relative to the frame; a second side support coupled to and extending substantially vertically upwards relative to the frame; and a handrail assembly having a first side coupled to the first side support and a second side coupled to the second side support, each of the first and second sides of the handrail assembly comprising upper and lower members vertically spaced from one another and collectively providing a plurality of hand placement positions including at least two substantially horizontally aligned hand placement positions and at least one primarily vertically aligned hand placement position thereby allowing a plurality of exercises/uses of the treadmill.

A treadmill is provided according to various embodiments herein. The treadmill includes a frame; a front shaft coupled to the frame; a rear shaft coupled to the frame; and a running belt disposed about the front and rear shafts, wherein the running belt assumes at least a portion of a curved running surface, the curved running surface having a radius of curvature of approximately 88 to 138 inches.

Configuration of a running surface for a manual treadmill

A handrail assembly for a treadmill is provided. The handrail assembly includes: a base having a first side and a second side; a first portion extending from the first side of the base; a second portion extending from the second side of the base; and a member coupled to the first portion and the second portion, the member including at least one lower section and at least one upper section. The base defines at least one compartment. At least a part of the member is configured to receive a pushing force from a user during use of the treadmill.

A manual powered treadmill includes a frame; a front shaft assembly coupled to the frame; a rear shaft assembly coupled to the frame; an intermediate shaft coupled to the frame, the intermediate shaft is disposed intermediate the front shaft assembly and the rear shaft assembly; a running belt disposed about the front and rear shaft assemblies, the running belt defining at least a portion of a non-planar running surface; and a safety device coupled to the intermediate shaft. The safety device is operable to substantially prevent movement of the running belt in a first direction and to permit movement of the running belt in a second direction opposite the first direction.

Various embodiments related to a recumbent therapeutic and exercise device are provided herein. The recumbent therapeutic and exercise device includes a frame; a hand crank system coupled to the frame, the hand crank system including a hand crank rotatable by a user, wherein the hand crank is movable in a substantially vertical plane closer to and further from a support surface for the frame; and a foot crank system coupled to the frame, the foot crank system including a foot crank rotatable by the user, wherein the foot crank is movable in a substantially horizontal plane relative to the support surface for the fame.

Recumbent therapeutic and exercise device

A treadmill for providing walking rehabilitation to a rehabilitee is provided. The treadmill includes a base including a belt, a motor interconnected with the belt, and a walking rehabilitation device interconnected with the base. The motor causes the belt to rotate in a first direction. The walking rehabilitation device includes a user engagement structure configured to be removably secured to one or more locations of a rehabilitee's extremities. The walking rehabilitation device further includes a transmission interconnecting the motor and the user engagement structure, the transmission transferring motion from the motor to the rehabilitee via the user engagement structure, allowing the rehabilitee to walk along the belt.
