A valve assembly includes a body structure having a proximal inlet tube and a distal outlet tube separated by a valve cylinder portion, a flow control valve situated in the valve cylinder portion, the flow control valve including a valve plug and an actuator shaft, and an actuation control pivotally mounted to the body structure, wherein rotational movement of the actuation control exerts an axial force against the actuator shaft to move the valve plug through the valve cylinder portion and open fluid communication between the proximal inlet tube and the distal outlet tube. A bead seating system includes means for establishing fluid communication between a container of pressurized fluid and a valve assembly, means for transferring rotational movement of a actuation control pivotally mounted on the valve assembly into an axial force, means for establishing fluid communication between the container and a bead seating tool via the valve assembly.

A pneumatic connector is provided. The pneumatic connector includes: a body having two ends; a first connecting structure at one end of the body; a second connecting structure at the other end of the body, wherein the first and second connecting structures are substantially in line with each other; and a third connecting structure located in between the first and second connecting structures at an angle that is not in line with the first and second connecting structures, wherein the first second and third connecting structures are fluidly connected to an interior of the body, wherein the first, second and third connecting structures are adapted to permit substantially leak free connections between pneumatic components. A method of creating an accessory connection for a bead seater is provided.

A load supporting stand that having a longitudinal axis is disclosed. The supporting stand has an upper column that includes a shaft having a first end and a second end that extends along the longitudinal axis. The shaft has a first diameter. The upper column also includes a shelf attached to the first end of said shaft. The upper column also has a load bearing pin that extends transversely through the shaft. The stand also has a base portion that receives the upper column that includes a receiving conduit that extends along the longitudinal axis and has a second diameter greater than the first diameter. The conduit has a third end and a fourth end and a slot that extends between the third and fourth ends along with a series of notches extending therefrom. The base portion has a base plate connected to the receiving conduit.

Twist jack stand apparatus and method

A foot actuated pivoting lever is provided. The lever may include: a lever member having two ends, one end configured to attach to a mechanism configured to receive an input from the lever member; and a pedal pivotally attached proximate to the other end of the lever member, wherein the pedal is configured to pivot between a first and a second position, wherein in the first position, the pedal lies on top of a section of the lever member and, in the second position, the pedal extends beyond the lever member. A mechanism for actuating a piston may be provided.

A puller tool and method for pulling a component from another component are provided. The puller tool can include a cross bar, a pair of puller legs that are movable along the length of the cross bar and a forcing screw. The puller legs can be quickly positioned anywhere along the length of the cross bar through a quick release mechanism. The cross bar can include notches on its outer surface to ensure that the puller legs are equidistant from each other during use.

A hub remover is provided. The hub remover includes a cross bar; a set of jaws having a receiving hole dimensioned to allow the cross bar to fit through the receiving hole to connect the jaws together via the cross bar; a forcing screw configured to extend through the cross-bar and between the jaws; a forcing screw nut configured to threadably engage an end of the forcing screw; and a resilient friction device located in the hole and configured to generate friction between the cross bar and the jaw when the cross bar moves through the hole in the cross bar. A method of operating a hub remover is provided. The method includes extending the forcing screw through a hole in the hub; placing a forcing screw nut on an end of the forcing screw that has extended through the hub; placing a foot portion of a jaw behind a portion of the hub; and turning the forcing screw to urge the forcing screw nut against a rear portion of the hub and thereby push the hub off of a spindle assembly.

Wheel hub remover and method

A wheel stud installing and removing system includes a C-frame; a forcing screw configured to communicate with the C-frame to move laterally through the C-frame; a swivel mounted on an end on the forcing screw; an adapter receiver mounted on an opposite end of the C-frame from the forcing screw, and configured to receive at least one of either a stud installing adapter and a stud removing adapter. A method of moving a stud includes: inserting one of either an installing adapter or a removing adapter into an adapter receiver on a C-frame; aligning a longitudinal axis of the adapter with a longitudinal axis of the stud; aligning the longitudinal axis of the stud with a longitudinal axis of a forcing screw; and turning the forcing screw.

A motor vehicle component support and method that includes reciprocating horizontal members that maintain the vehicle component in balance as the support is adjusted according to the component size. With the reciprocating action, the adjustments to one horizontal member are identically and automatically performed on the other horizontal member. In addition, the apparatus includes cushions capable of pivoting to better accommodate components of irregular geometries.

Retractable support apparatus and method

A method and apparatus used for storing items is provided. The apparatus includes a base, a tray configured to sit within the base and be removable from the base. The apparatus also includes a lid configured to be pivotably attached to the base and removable from the base. The lid is configured to enclose the tray between the base and the lid and the tray and the base configured to be no greater than about 2 inches in thickness. The method includes containing parts in a tray having cavities configured to store the parts. The method further includes containing the tray in the base, containing additional parts in the base, and removing a lid to uncover the tray. The method further includes placing the tray in toolbox drawer configured to accept an item of a thickness of about 2 inches or less.

Low profiles storage apparatus and method

A method and apparatus for transmitting a force around a corner is provided. The apparatus includes a force transmitter comprising a first and second rounded end, a connecting member connecting the first and second rounded ends having a smaller diameter than the first and second rounded ends. The method for transmitting a force around a corner comprises the steps of urging a force transmitter in one direction, transmitting the force from the force transmitter and a second direction wherein the force transmitter has two rounded ends and a connecting portion having a lesser diameter than either rounded end.

Tool force transmitting method and apparatus

A clutch handler is provided for removal and installation of vehicle parts, such as clutches and the like. The clutch handler comprises a base, a lift arm mechanism including a base end and a distal end, the base end being pivotally mounted to the base by a unique linkage. This linkage allows a clutch to be flipped between the horizontal and the vertical positions without the user's assistance.
