Heat resistant separation fabric consisting out of yarns, wherein the yarns comprise metal fibers; wherein the heat resistant fabric comprises boron nitride particles distributed throughout the complete thickness of the fabric; wherein boron nitride particles are present between metal fibers in the yarns; wherein the amount of the boron nitride particles present on the surface of the fabric is not more than the amount of the boron nitride particles present in the bulk of the fabric.

Heat resistant separation fabric

An antenna for use in an RFID tag comprises an antenna yarn. The antenna yarn comprises metal fibers. The metal fibers are stainless steel fibers. The antenna yarn is wrapped by at least one wrapping yarn thereby covering the full surface of the antenna yarn or of the metal wire or of the bundle of metal wires. The at least one wrapping yarn comprises non-electrically conductive fibers.

Antenna for use in an RFID tag

A label printer has a touchscreen for displaying and inputting label data, and comprising at least one input area. The label printer also has a hardware keyboard for inputting label data, and comprising at least one hardware key. The label printer also has control means arranged to control printing means for printing a label in accordance with label information. The label information is derived from a combination of label data input via the at least one hardware key of said hardware keyboard and label data input via the at least one input area of said touchscreen.

Label printer

A label printer comprises input means operable by a user to input label data. The label printer also has display means and control means configured to receive said input label data from the input means. The control means is arranged to control the display to display an image of a label defined by said input label data in a label display area. The control means is configured to cause the display to display said image of the label such that a first dimension of the image of the label is decreased with respect to the corresponding dimension of said display area so that all of said image of the label is displayed in said display area.

Label printer with touchscreen-formatting of characters

A label printer, comprising: input means operable by a user; display means; and control means connected to the input means and the display means. The control means are configured to control the display means to first display a header and a first image representative of a label; and, in response to receiving at the control means a signal indicative of an operation of the input means by a user to select the header, to control the display to then display a second image representative of the label and a graphical control panel associated with said header. The second image representative of the label is of a size smaller than the first image representative of the label. The display means may comprise a touchscreen.

Interactive display for label printer

A printing device for printing labels having a memory for storing one or more character sets, each character set including at least a principle character and an additional character which is associated with the principle character; a user input having character selection keys for selecting a character set to define an image to be printed by the printing device; and a controller for accessing characters from the memory to be displayed and printed which correspond to characters selected at the user input means; wherein actuation of a character selection key selects the principle character in the selected character set and maintaining activation of the character selection key for a predetermined time period selects the associated additional character.

Printing device

A printing apparatus using a consumable providing at least one of an image receiving tape, the consumable carrying a tag holding parameter information identifying the width of the tape and status information including the amount of tape remaining in the consumable, the printing apparatus comprising: printing means for printing an image; a tag reader arranged to receive said information from the tag via a contactless link in the form of electromagnetic waves; and a processor arranged to (i) receive said information and to control operation of the printing apparatus in dependence thereon including selecting a printing operation based on the identified width, and (ii) update the status information based on usage of the tape via the contactless link.

Information on consumables

A label printer having a plurality of input devices for inputting information to said label printer where a first input device can be a keyboard, and a second input device can be a connectable external controlling entity; a supply of image receiving medium such as a tape; a printer adapted to print an image on the tape; and a printer controller for controlling the label printer, so that when the label printer is connected the label printer can be operated in a stand alone mode in which information can only be input to said label printer via said first input device, or an external control mode in which information can only be input to said label printer via the connecting device, such that for a predetermined period of time after use in one of the said stand alone mode and the said external control mode, any information input via the input device not in use can not operate the label printer, but after the predetermined period of time information can be input to operate the label printer via either the first input device or the connected second input device.

A printing device for printing labels comprising: a memory for storing one or more character sets, each character set including at least a principle character and an additional character which is associated with the principle character; user input means having character selection keys for selecting a character set to define an image to be printed by the printing device; and a controller for accessing characters from the memory to be displayed and printed which correspond to characters selected at the user input means; wherein actuation of a character selection key selects the principle character in the selected character set and maintaining activation of the character selection key for a predetermined time period selects the associated additional character.

Printing device including a user input section having time dependent selection keys

A printing apparatus having a first zone for receiving a supply of image receiving tape and a second zone for receiving a supply of thermal transfer ribbon, means for identifying the nature of the image receiving tape and the thermal transfer ribbon located in the first and second zones, and means for implementing a compatibility check to determine whether said image receiving tape and said thermal transfer ribbon are compatible, and to generate an incompatibility indication if the the compatibility check fails.
