A disposable double pointed injection needle has a needle hub to which a thin needle cannula is permanently fastened and which needle hub can be mounted on to a syringe comprising a dose setting and injection mechanism and a cartridge containing a liquid medicine to be injected subcutaneously into a human body. The needle hub is provided with a safety shield guided on the needle hub. The safety shield is urged in a direction away from the needle hub by a spring located between the needle hub and the safety shield. After injection the shield is moved away from the needle hub by the spring and locked in an irreversible position where the safety shield covers the needle cannula and prevents accidental needle stick injuries.

A pen shaped device for nasal administration of doses of a liquid medicine, comprising a first and a second housing element, the first housing element (1) comprising a cartridge for the medicine, this cartridge being at one end closed by a piston (21) and being at its other end closed by a valve (7,9), which may be opened to connect the cartridge to a spray nozzle (12). When the two housing elements are rotated relatively to each other, a nut member (27) is proportional to the rotation moved along a threaded piston rod (22) to compress a helical spring (32) to act via the nut element (27) and the piston rod (22) on the piston (21) to put the content of the cartridge under pressure, which pressure may be released by opening the valve (7,9) to lead the medicine in the cartridge to the nozzle (12).

The invention relates to an apparatus for simultaneous injection of two different kinds of preparations in a preset proportion.

Manifold for a two barrel syringe

A disposable syringe includes first and second housing elements which are coupled together for rotation without axial movement therebetween. The first housing element receives a cartridge of a solution to be injected, and mounts a liquid outlet needle at its front end. A piston rod is disposed in the second housing element to move axially therein, and this piston rod includes a rod element and a nut element. The rod element is coupled to the first housing element to move axially therein without relative rotation therewith, and the nut element is threaded to the rod element for telescoping movement therewith and is configured to move axially in the second housing element without relative rotation therein. A pressure receiving element is mounted on the nut element. The housing, rod, nut and pressure receiving elements cooperate such that relative rotation between the housing elements in a selected direction causes relative rotation between the nut and rod elements and thereby increases the effective length of the piston rod and causes the pressure receiving element to extend from the second housing element. A protective cap is removably mounted over the first housing element and is configured to abut second housing element while mounted in place on the first housing element. This protective cap is engaged with the first housing element such that rotation of the cap with respect to the second housing element causes rotation of the first housing element with respect to the second housing element.

Applicator for inserting a suppositorium or the like

An dispenser characterized by provision for use of a replaceable needle and a prefilled cartridge. The dispenser comprises an elongated body separable into two body sections, with the front end section adapted to contain a prefilled cartridge and with provision at the front end for mounting a needle removably thereon. The back end section contains the operating mechanism shown by FIG. 10 to convert the longitudinal movement of a pushable element into unidirectionally rotary movement, then into longitudinal movement of a piston rod that acts to expel fluid through the needle. A multipurpose cap is protective of the needle end when mounted on the front end, and is an operating member when mounted on the rear end, as is illustrated by FIGS. 1 and 2.
