An apparatus including circuitry configured to: obtain at least two audio signals from at least two microphones, wherein the at least two audio signals at least in part includes noise which is substantially incoherent between the at least two audio signals; estimate values associated with the noise within the at least two audio signals; process at least one of the at least two audio signals based on the values associated with the noise; and obtain spatial metadata associated with the at least two audio signals for rendering at least one of the at least two audio signals.

Wind noise reduction in parametric audio

Examples of the disclosure relate to apparatus, methods and computer programs for enabling audio zooming. The apparatus can include circuitry configured for determining, for an audio signal, if sound energy in at least one first direction is different to sound energy in at least one second direction by at least a threshold amount. The circuitry may also be configured for controlling an amount of headroom provided based on whether or not sound energy in at least one first direction is different to the sound energy in at least one second direction by at least a threshold amount.

Apparatus, method and computer program for enabling audio zooming

Examples of the disclosure relate to apparatus, methods and computer programs for processing spatial audio to reduce the effects of errors within the spatial audio. The apparatus can be configured to obtain spatial audio and associated one or more three-dimensional parameters wherein the one or more three-dimensional parameters comprise one or more direction parameters. The apparatus can also be configured to determine one or more ranges for direction parameters when the one or more three-dimensional parameters are reduced to two dimensions to obtain one or more two-dimensional parameters. The apparatus can also be configured to apply processing to the one or more two-dimensional parameters based on whether or not the one or more ranges in two dimensions are in accordance with one or more criteria.

Apparatus, methods and computer programs for processing spatial audio

Examples of the disclosure relate to apparatus, methods and computer programs for controlling noise reduction in audio signals including audio captured by a plurality of microphones. The apparatus includes circuitry for obtaining one or more audio signals wherein the one or more audio signals include audio captured by a plurality of microphones and dividing the obtained one or more audio signals into a plurality of intervals. The circuitry may also be configured for determining one or more parameters relating to one or more noise characteristics for different intervals and controlling noise reduction applied to the different intervals based on the determined one or more parameters within the different intervals.

Audio capture with multiple microphones

An apparatus for providing directional audio capture may include a processor and memory storing executable computer program code that cause the apparatus to at least perform operations including assigning at least one beam direction, among a plurality of beam directions, in which to direct directionality of an output signal of one or more microphones. The computer program code may further cause the apparatus to divide microphone signals of the microphones into selected frequency subbands wherein an analysis performed. The computer program code may further cause the apparatus to select at least one set of microphones of the apparatus for selected frequency subbands. The computer program code may further cause the apparatus to optimize the assigned at least one beam direction by adjusting a beamformer parameter(s) based on the selected set of microphones and at least one of the selected frequency subbands. Corresponding methods and computer program products are also provided.

Methods, apparatuses and computer program products for facilitating directional audio capture with multiple microphones

An apparatus comprising: an input configured to receive at least two microphone signals associated with at least one acoustic source; an audio source determiner configured to determine from at least part of the at least two microphone signals at least one audio source based on the at least one acoustic source; an audio source direction determiner configured to determine at least one direction associated with the determined at least one audio source; a calibrator configured to calibrate at least one of the at least two microphone signals based on the at least one direction.

Apparatus for processing of audio signals

The invention relates to echo cancelling methods used in telephone systems, more specifically to echo cancelling methods based on two filters. The echo cancelling method according to the invention employs two adaptive filters, namely, a main filter (10) and a background filter (50). The purpose of the background filter (50) is to make sure that the main filter (10) model stays correct. The main and background filter coefficients are updated on different conditions, and the residual signals (L.sub.-- RES1, L.sub.-- RES2) produced by the filters are compared to each other. The set of filter coefficients used for generating the echo canceller's output signal (S.sub.-- OUT) is selected on the basis of said comparison of the residual signals. The selection of the set of filter coefficients is carried out either by copying the background filter coefficients to the main filter or by interchanging the background and main filter functions. Operation of the echo canceller in a double talk situation is enhanced by comparing the residual signals produced by the two filters frequency band by frequency band, thus avoiding errors caused by echo-resembling correlations caused by random loud sounds in double talk situations.
