Inkjet printing method for heat sensitive substrates

An inkjet printing method, performed by an industrial inkjet system to form a decoration layer, includes the steps of printing copies of a decorative image with a printing unit on a substrate by transmitting consecutive bitmap rows of the decorative image to a printing unit, measuring dimensional changes in the substrate while printing copies of the decorative image, and compensating the dimensional changes while printing copies of the decorative image by one of: skipping at least one bitmap row of the decorative image upon dimensional expansion, or reprinting at least one bitmap row of the decorative image on the substrate upon dimensional shrink.

Inkjet printing method for decorative images

To compensate for inaccuracies in the finishing of a decorative workpiece such as cutting or producing tongue-and-groove profiles to the decorative workpiece, a bleed area is added to the decorative pattern carried by a decoration layer of a decorative workpiece. The bleed area is filled with image content of the decorative pattern. In the bleed area a mark such as a cut mark or a control mark may be digital printed.

Manufacturing of decorative workpieces by inkjet

A method for manufacturing decorative workpieces includes the step of nesting a set of decorative patterns digitally printed on a decoration layer to reduce the waste of decoration layer. To perform a corresponding relief for the nested decorative patterns on a nested decorative workpiece, the relief provided by a digital relief apparatus is in a correct match with the nested decorative workpiece. If the printing zone of the digital printer has a failure zone, the nesting method prevents arranging of the decorative patterns in this failure zone.

A single pass inkjet printing method includes the steps of: a) providing a radiation curable inkjet ink set containing at least a first and a second radiation curable inkjet ink having a dynamic surface tension of no more than 30 mN/m measured by maximum bubble pressure tensiometry at a surface age of 50 ms and at 25&#xb0; C.; b) jetting a first radiation curable inkjet ink on an ink-jet ink-receiver moving at a printing speed of at least 35 m/min.; c) at least partially curing the first inkjet ink on the ink receiver within the range of 40 to 500 ms after the first inkjet ink landed on the ink receiver; d) jetting a second radiation curable inkjet ink on the at least partially cured first inkjet ink; and e) at least partially curing the second inkjet ink within the range of 40 to 500 ms after the second inkjet ink landed on the first inkjet ink.

Single pass inkjet printing method

An image processing method includes a step of converting halftoned pixels of an image to be printed represented at a first lower tonal resolution into pixels represented at a second higher tonal resolution. Image processing is used on the pixels having a higher tonal resolution to reduce image quality artifacts when the pixels are printed at the first lower tonal resolution. In a preferred embodiment, the image processing includes error diffusion of a sigma delta modulation.
