The self-climbing elevator machine room comprises two decks positioned upon each other. Each deck comprises guide means supporting the deck movably on guide rails and locking means locking and unlocking the deck to the guide rails and/or to guide rail fixing means. Lifting means move the two decks along the guide rails in relation to each other. At least one power source provides power to the lifting means. The elevator machine room climbs stepwise along the guide rails by alternatingly locking and unlocking the lower deck and the upper deck to the guide rails and/or to the guide rail fixing means and thereafter raising the unlocked deck.

Self-climbing elevator machine room for use during the construction of a building

The arrangement comprises a self-climbing installation platform comprising two consecutive decks, a machine room deck suspended from the installation platform and an elevator car suspended from the machine room deck. Each deck, the machine room deck and the car are supported movably with guide means on guide rails and locked and unlocked with locking means to the guide rails and/or to guide rail fixing means. Lifting means powered by a power source move the two decks in relation to each other. Movable machine room, elevator arrangement and method for constructing elevator

A self-climbing installation platform includes two decks including an upper deck and a lower deck. Each deck includes a guide element configured to support the deck movably on guide rails. Each deck includes a locking element configured to lock and unlock the deck to the guide rails and/or to guide rail fixing elements. The installation platform includes a lifting element configured to move the two decks along the guide rails in relation to each other, and at least one power source configured to provide power to the lifting element. The installation platform is configured to climb stepwise along the guide rails based on alternatingly locking and unlocking the lower deck and the upper deck to the guide rails and/or to the guide rail fixing elements with separate, respective locking elements and raising an unlocked deck with the lifting element.

Self-climbing installation platform for installing an elevator during construction of a building

The invention relates to a method for constructing an elevator comprising constructing a movable machine room in the bottom end of a hoistway formed in a building under construction; and thereafter hoisting the movable machine room; and constructing an elevator car in the bottom end of the hoistway below the movable machine room; and providing a counterweight in the bottom end of the hoistway below the movable machine room; connecting the elevator car and the counterweight with a suspension roping; and thereafter hoisting the movable machine room to a first transport position; and thereafter mounting the movable machine room to the first transport position in the hoistway vertically supported on stationary structures; and thereafter using the elevator car for transporting passengers and/or goods below the movable machine room while the machine room is mounted in said first transport position and the elevator car and the counterweight hang suspended from the machine room by the hoisting roping; and thereafter hoisting the movable machine room upwards to a second transport position; wherein the second transport position is higher than said first transport position; and thereafter mounting the movable machine room to the second transport position in the hoistway vertically supported on stationary structures; and thereafter using the elevator car for transporting passengers and/or goods below the movable machine room while the movable machine room is mounted in said second position.

Method for constructing elevator

A method and an arrangement are provided for fixing the compensating ropes of an elevator to an elevator car or to a counterweight, which elevator includes at least a hoisting machine and hoisting roping, suspended by which the elevator car as well as the counterweight are arranged to travel, and between which elevator car and counterweight compensating ropes are fixed such that the first ends of the compensating ropes are fixed to the counterweight, from where the compensating ropes are led downwards to pass below a compensating pulley, after which upwards to the elevator car, where the second ends of the compensating ropes are fixed by wedge housings in connection with the elevator car. When fixing the ends of the compensating ropes in connection with the elevator car or the counterweight, the wedge housings are turned into an inclined attitude before disposing the ends of the compensating ropes in the wedge housings.
