A method for processing wagering game e-tickets is described herein. The method can include receiving, from a mobile device over a network, an indication to create an e-ticket. The method can also include determining, by a wagering game server, monetary value information for the e-ticket. The method can also include transmitting, to a ticketing server, the monetary value information; receiving, from the ticketing server, e-ticket information. The method can also include transmitting, over the network, the e-ticket information to the mobile device for generating the e-ticket.

Methods of transferring funds in a cashless wagering system

A gaming system is configured to transfer wagering credits usable for wagering from a first cashless wagering system to a second cashless wagering system, the gaming system including a first and a second gaming machine and controller(s) configured to perform acts including depositing wagering credits associated with the first gaming machine into the first cashless wagering system, accessing, via a first system access technique, the first cashless wagering system and debiting, in a first transaction, the wagering credits from the first cashless wagering system. The controller(s) being further configured to credit, in the first transaction, the wagering credits from the first cashless wagering system to a second, different cashless wagering system, the second cashless wagering system being accessed via a second, different system access technique, wherein the first and second cashless wagering systems are communicably coupled over a network and disburse the wagering credits from the second cashless wagering system for game play on the second gaming machine associated with the second cashless wagering system.

Managing cashless wagering game systems

In some embodiments, a wagering game machine includes: a carrier board comprising a first network port and a second network port, the first network port having a first network address and the second network port having a second network address; a processor located on the carrier board; a first nonvolatile memory located on the carrier board and communicatively coupled to the first network port, the first nonvolatile memory configured to store the first network address; and a second nonvolatile memory located on the carrier board, wherein the second nonvolatile memory is configured to store Basic Input and Output System (BIOS) code that includes a system BIOS code and an application BIOS code, wherein the BIOS code is hardware write-protected, wherein the processor is configured to derive the second network address from the first network address during execution of boot-up operations of the apparatus.

Method and apparatus are provided wherein, in one example embodiment, a gaming machine includes a computing platform and a software program executing on the computing platform to provide a gaming experience to a user of the gaming machine, and there are provided one or more hardware or software components operative on the computing platform to detect faults occurring on the platform. This document discusses, among other things, systems and methods for managing of cashless wagering game systems. An apparatus comprises a control module to debit, via a first system access technique, a debit amount from a first cashless wagering system in a financial transaction and credit, via a second system access technique different from the first system access technique, a credit amount to a second cashless wagering system in the same financial transaction, the first and second cashless wagering game systems being different from one another coupled over a network.

An electronic gaming machine (EGM) may use a temporary network to perform configuration updates upon determining that a maintenance mode is active and that normal gaming operation is suspended. The temporary network may use cryptographically paired wireless devices that prevent man-in-the-middle attacks or eavesdropping. Alternatively, the temporary network may use an existing network that is utilized during normal gaming operation for accessories and/or loyalty data. Once the temporary, or ad hoc, network is established, a host electronic gaming machine or a standalone device may be used as a repository from which configuration information may be propagated to other electronic gaming machines, even if the other electronic gaming machines have a different games or configurations from that of the host. This capability may be particularly helpful in jurisdictions where EGM networking is prohibited during game play operation.

NVRAM may be pre-allocated for various purposes prior to loading a first wagering game on a the wagering game machine. A second wagering may be loaded on the wagering game machine.
