A nozzle cap assembly includes a nut positioned at a first end of the nozzle cap assembly; a base positioned at a second end of the nozzle cap assembly, the base configured to mount on a nozzle of a fire hydrant; an enclosure positioned between the nut and the base, the enclosure defining a cavity; and an antenna, a modem, and a power source positioned within the cavity, the modem connected in electrical communication with the antenna and the power source.

A nozzle cap assembly can include a nozzle cap body defining a top end and a bottom end, the nozzle cap body defining a base positioned at the top end and a curved side wall extend from the base down to the bottom end; an enclosure coupled to the top end, the enclosure rotationally fixed relative to the nozzle cap body, the enclosure at least partially defining an enclosure cavity; and a nut base positioned opposite from the nozzle cap body, the enclosure positioned between the nut base and the base.

A nozzle cap assembly includes a nozzle cap housing configured to mount on a hydrant, the nozzle cap housing defining an upper rim and a lower rim, the nozzle cap housing defining an interior cavity extending inward from the upper rim toward the lower rim, the nozzle cap housing defining an antenna mounting portion extending from the upper rim toward the lower rim; an antenna cover mounted on the nozzle cap housing, the antenna cover positioned over at least a portion of the antenna mounting portion, the antenna cover defining an inner cover surface facing the antenna mounting portion, an antenna cover cavity at least partially defined between the inner cover surface and the antenna mounting portion; and an antenna assembly positioned in the antenna cover cavity, the antenna assembly secured to the inner cover surface.

A nozzle cap assembly can include a nozzle cap housing configured to mount on a hydrant, a nozzle cap cover mounted on the nozzle cap housing, an antenna cover positioned on the nozzle cap housing and secured by the nozzle cap cover, the nozzle cap housing, the antenna cover, and the nozzle cap cover can define an antenna cover cavity, and an antenna assembly can be positioned in the antenna cover cavity.

An antenna assembly includes a curved printed circuit board (PCB) configured to mount around a curved surface. The curved PCB can include an outward-facing first side and an inward-facing second side with a plurality of antenna structures disposed on one of the first side and second side of the PCB. The plurality of antenna structures can be configured to provide directional radiation in at least one frequency band.

Disclosed is a pit lid antenna assembly including an antenna having an upper section and a lower section; and an antenna casing having a casing wall having an inner surface, the inner surface defining a first antenna slot, the first antenna slot sized to accept a portion of the lower section of the antenna.

A pit mount interface device includes a body having a head and an elongate stem extending from a bottom surface of the head. The elongate stem is sized and configured to be received in and extend through a hole formed in a cover of a pit. A nut defines a central aperture that is sized and configured to receive the elongate stem of the body. A passive radiator is disposed within the body and configured receive a radio frequency (RF) signal transmitted by an automatic meter reading (AMR) device located below the cover through inductive coupling and to radiate the RF signal from a position located above the cover of the pit.

Pit mount interface device

A mounting assembly for an automatic meter reading (AMR) unit includes a body having a head and an elongate stem extending from a bottom surface of the head. The elongate stem is sized and configured to be received in and extend through a hole formed in a cover of a pit, and the head has a size greater than a size of the hole formed in the cover of the pit. A nut defines a central aperture sized and configured to receive the elongate stem of the body, and a support channel has a pair of spaced apart arms each including a ledge configured to be received in a slot formed in the elongate stem of the body. The support channel defines an opening that is sized and configured to receive at least a portion of the AMR unit therein.
