A system for limiting deflection of an exhaust sidewall liner on a variable geometry exhaust duct uses a spacer and a T-bolt. The system connects the exhaust sidewall liner to the static structure on a variable geometry exhaust duct. The spacer includes a chimney having a first side and a second side opposite of the first side, an aperture extending from the first side to the second side, a flange disposed on the first side, and at least one anti-rotation tab disposed on the second side near an edge of the second side. The T-bolt includes an elongated shaft that extends along an axis and having a diameter, and a head having at least one straight edge connected to an end of the shaft. The at least one straight edge engages with the anti-ration tab, thereby preventing rotation of the stud T-bolt about the axis.

Exhaust liner deflection limiter

A method of assembling a mid-turbine frame includes engaging at least two tabs in a radially inner end of at least one spoke in a groove in an inner frame case. The at least one spoke is secured to the inner frame case with a central bolt extending through the inner frame case into the at least one spoke.

A gas turbine engine according to an example of the present disclosure includes a fan situated at an inlet of a bypass passage. The fan has a fan diameter, Dfan. A low pressure turbine section is configured to drive the fan and a first compressor section. The low pressure turbine section has a greater number of stages than the first compressor section. The low pressure turbine section has a maximum rotor diameter, Dturb. A ratio of the maximum rotor diameter Dturb divided by the fan diameter Dfan is less than 0.6.

A disclosed lock washer includes a first opening spaced apart from a second opening for receiving fasteners and preventing rotation. A first set of tabs is associated with the first opening and a second set of tabs is associated with the second opening. Each of the first and second set of tabs are bendable to a lock position preventing rotation of a fastener received within a corresponding one of the first opening and the second opening.

The seal ring includes a first leg and a second leg that is connected to the first leg at a corner of the seal ring. The first leg is axially engaged with the first seal land. A mid-turbine frame for a gas turbine engine includes an inner frame case that includes a bolt opening and at least one spoke for connecting an outer frame case to the inner frame case that includes an inlet passage that extends in a radial direction. A central bolt extends through the bolt opening for securing at least one spoke to the inner frame case.

A stator vane assembly includes a plurality of distinct vane segments that each respectively include a first platform, a second platform and at least one vane airfoil connected at opposed ends thereof to the first platform and the second platform. The first platforms meet at distinct first joints with each other, and the second platforms meet at distinct second joints with each other such that the plurality of vane segments forms an annular structure.

A gaspath component includes a flowpath body. A cooling plenum is disposed within the flowpath body. The cooling plenum includes a first region configured to receive a cooling flow and a second region configured to expel the cooling flow from the flowpath body. A turbine engine vane arrangement and a method for manufacturing a turbine engine vane arrangement are provided. The vane arrangement includes a plurality of vane arrangement segments arranged circumferentially around an axial centerline. Each of the vane arrangement segments includes an airfoil that extends radially between a first platform segment and a second platform segment. The first platform segment extends circumferentially between a first mate face and a second mate face. The first mate face of a first of the vane arrangement segments is bonded to the second mate face of a second of the vane arrangement segments.

A sealing arrangement includes a turbine static structure with a seal ring having groove with a contact surface. Also included is a bearing compartment with a second contact surface, and a piston seal positioned between the turbine static structure and the bearing compartment. The piston seal includes sides configured to contact the contact surfaces and is positioned in the groove.

A turbine engine assembly includes a first component, a second component and a third component arranged along an axis. The first component houses at least a portion of the third component. The assembly also includes a seal carrier, a seal land and a seal element, which seals a gap between the seal carrier and the seal land. The seal carrier is connected to the first component, and includes a groove surface and a groove. A first portion of the seal carrier seals a gap between a second portion of the seal carrier and the second component. The seal land is connected to the third component and includes a seal land surface. The seal element extends radially into the groove. The seal element is axially engaged with the groove surface and radially engaged with the seal land surface.

A method for cooling a rotatable nozzle includes rotating a curved seal about a seal land while maintaining contact therewith. Cooling air is directed through a first diffusion hole in the curved seal to cool the nozzle if the rotatable curved seal is in a first position where higher heat is encountered. Cool air is directed through a second diffusion hole in the curved seal to cool the nozzle if the rotatable curved seal is in a first position where higher heat is encountered and if in a second position where relatively lower heat is encountered.
