An osteosynthesis clip for the cicatrization of bone tissue fragments and an insertion tool for inserting the clip are provided. The clip includes at least two engagement legs extending approximately parallel to one another and including respective distal bridging tips and respective proximal insertion tips to be inserted into the bone tissue fragments; and a connecting bridge coupled to the distal bridging tips of the two engagement legs, the connecting bridge including at least two elongated sections extending along side one another, the elongated sections extending along a non-linear trajectory to form a non-linear deformable region, such as a depression or a dome.

Osteosynthesis clip and insertion tool for use with bone tissue fragments

An osteosynthesis clip for the cicatrization of bone tissue fragments. The clip includes at least two engagement legs extending approximately parallel to one another and including respective distal bridging tips and respective proximal insertion tips to be inserted into the bone tissue fragments; and a connecting bridge coupled to the distal bridging tips of the two engagement legs, the connecting bridge including at least two elongated sections extending along side one another, the elongated sections extending along a non-linear trajectory to form a non-linear deformable region, such as a depression or a dome. The engagement legs include helical screw surfaces to facilitate removal of the clip after the bone tissue fragments have fused.

An improved osteosynthesis clip for the cicatrization of bone fragments, an improved insertion tool and method for inserting the improved clip and a surgical system implementing the improved clip and insertion tool are provided. The clip includes at least two engagement legs extending approximately parallel to one another and including insertion tips to be inserted into the bone tissue fragments; and a connecting bridge coupled to the at least two engagement legs at portions opposite the insertion portions, the connecting bridge including at least two elongated sections extending along side one another, the elongated sections extending along a non-linear trajectory to form a non-linear deformable region, such as a depression or a dome, wherein the engagement legs having respective helical screw surfaces extending substantially an entire distance between respective insertion and opposite portions to facilitate removal of the clip after the bone tissue fragments have fused. The improved clip may be made of any biocompatible material, including shape memory alloys, such as Nitinol. The insertion tool is improved to apply force at the bridging tips of either a stepped on a non stepped clip.

Osteosynthesis clip and insertion tool for inserting an osteosynthesis clip into bone tissue fragments

A surgical clip for connecting at least two bio-organic tissue members together, the clip comprising a body having two spaced legs and formed into a U-shape, each leg having a distal end which can be inserted into an opening in bone and each having a proximal end, the proximal ends of said at least two legs being connected to corresponding ends of a deformable bridge comprising two spaced apart bridge sections with a gap disposed between the bridge sections, the bridge sections being deformable by a force, the gap being changed by the force to cause the two spaced legs to move into engagement with side walls of the openings in the bone to which the clip is connected, the body comprising the at least two spaced legs and the two bridge sections comprising a single piece of material.

Surgical clip and method

An elastic clip for osteosynthesis for connecting at least two bone parts together, comprising a body having at least two spaced legs, each leg having a lower end which can be inserted into a bone part and each having an upper end, the upper ends of said at least two legs being attached to corresponding ends of an elastic bridge which is deformable by pressure and which preferably comprises at least two elongated sections which extend alongside each other. Preferably, the clip has four legs attached in pairs to each of the ends of the bridge, the legs of each pair being attached together. The two elongated sections have at least a portion where they are not connected together, so that the two bridge sections can be forced apart to hold the bone parts in place. Alternatively, the two bridge sections are spaced apart and brought together to hold two bone parts together with a prescribed spacing.

Elastic clip for osteosynthesis

A device for locating in a desired position two or more bones or bone pieces that are in an undesired relative position, by bringing such pieces from the undesired position into the desired position, each piece having at least a pair of pins firmly fixed thereto, which pair of pins is, in turn, firmly retained in a retaining jaw member, the device comprising a straightforward and simple structure including two arms to be fixed to the jaw members and connected to arm driving motors for moving the arms along the three Cartesian axes, whereby the bones can be moved and located, or relocated, into the desired position under a controlled and programmed moving pattern, to achieve a non painful, accurate and exact correction of the bones position.

Procedure for applying an elastic clip

An orthopedic rigid splint-plate orthosis comprises a splint-plate which is provided in one of a combination of different shapes and sizes corresponding to different body members which may have to be treated. The splint-plate has at one of its edges a non-stretchable linking ribbon which at the end thereof opposite to the end joined to the plate includes locking means which are complementary with corresponding locking means provided in the edge of the plate opposite to that edge joined with the ribbon. The plate is provided presterilized and isolated inside an impervious bag which may be filled with boiling water to make the rigid splint-plate soft, whereafter the water is drained and the softened plate applied and moulded to the body member and then left to harden back to its rigid state. For use in an operating theatre, the bag with the plate may be closed inside a second bag and sterilized with gas or radiation; thereafter, the plate may be softened by submerging the sealed outside bag in hot water.
