An SCR-active zeolite catalyst and a method for producing same. To produce the catalyst, an Fe ion-exchanged zeolite is initially subjected to a first temperature treatment within a range of 300 to 600&#xb0; C. in a reducing hydrocarbon atmosphere such that the oxidation state of the Fe ions decreases and/or the dispersity of the Fe ions on the zeolite increases, whereupon the reduced zeolite is subjected to a second temperature treatment within a range of 300 to 600&#xb0; C. in an oxidizing atmosphere such that hydrocarbon residues or carbon residues are oxidatively removed, the zeolite being calcined to obtain a catalyst material during the two temperature treatments. Iron contained in the zeolite is stabilized in an oxidation state of less than +3 and/or the dispersity of the Fe ions on the zeolite is permanently increased such that a high SCR activity is achieved within a temperature range of less than 300&#xb0; C.

A wall-flow filter for filtering particulate matter from a flowing exhaust gas comprises a catalyst for catalyzing both the conversion of solid carbon in the particulate matter by oxygen and the selective reduction of oxides of nitrogen in the exhaust gas with a nitrogenous reductant, which catalyst comprising optionally stabilized ceria and at least one metal selected from (i) tungsten and (ii) both tungsten and iron.

A three way catalyst includes an extruded solid body having by weight: 10-100% of at least one binder/matrix component; 5-90% of a zeolitic molecular sieve, a non-zeolitic molecular sieve or a mixture of any two or more thereof; and 0-80% optionally stabilised ceria. The catalyst also includes at least one precious metal and optionally at least one non-precious metal, wherein: (i) the at least one precious metal is carried in one or more coating layer(s) on the body surface; (ii) at least one metal is present throughout the body and at least one precious metal is carried in one or more coating layer(s) on a body surface; or (iii) at least one metal is present throughout the body, is present in a higher concentration at a body surface, and at least one precious metal is carried in one or more coating layer(s) on the body surface.

Three way catalyst comprising extruded solid body

A wall-flow filter comprises a catalyst for converting oxides of nitrogen in the presence of a reducing agent, which wall-flow filter comprising an extruded solid body comprising: 10-95% by weight of at least one binder/matrix component; 5-90% by weight of a zeolitic molecular sieve, a non-zeolitic molecular sieve or a mixture of any two or more thereof; and 0-80% by weight optionally stabilized ceria, which catalyst comprising at least one metal, wherein: the at least one metal is present throughout the extruded solid body alone or in combination with: is also present in a higher concentration at a surface of the extruded solid body; is also carried in one or more coating layer(s) on a surface of the extruded solid body; or both.

A NOabsorber catalyst comprising an extruded solid body comprises either:

A three way catalyst includes an extruded solid body having: 10-95% by weight of at least one binder/matrix component; 5-90% by weight of a zeolitic molecular sieve; and 0-80% by weight optionally stabilized ceria. The catalyst further includes at least one precious metal and optionally at least one non-precious metal. The at least one precious metal is carried in a coating layer on a surface of the extruded solid body; at least one metal is present throughout the extruded solid body and at least one precious metal is also carried in a coating layer on a surface of the extruded solid body; or at least one metal is present throughout the extruded solid body, is present in a higher concentration at a surface of the extruded solid body and at least one precious metal is also carried in a coating layer on the surface of the extruded solid body.

An oxidation catalyst comprises an extruded solid body comprising: 10-95% by weight of at least one binder/matrix component; 5-90% by weight of a zeolitic molecular sieve, a non-zeolitic molecular sieve or a mixture of any two or more thereof; and 0-80% by weight optionally stabilized ceria, which catalyst comprising at least one precious metal and optionally at least one non-precious metal, wherein: (i) a majority of the at least one precious metal is located at a surface of the extruded solid body; (ii) the at least one precious metal is carried in one or more coating layer(s) on a surface; (iii) at least one metal is present throughout the extruded solid body and in a higher concentration at a surface; (iv) at least one metal is present throughout the extruded solid body and in a coating layer(s) on a surface; or (v) a combination of (ii) and (iii).

Oxidation catalyst

The invention relates to an extruded solid catalyst body for breaking down nitrogen oxides in the presence of a reducing agent as well as to a process for manufacture of said body. The solid catalyst body has an active material that contains 60 to 87% by weight of an ion-exchanged zeolite containing at least one metal from the group containing Cu, Hf, La, Au, In, V, lanthanoids and transition metals of group VIII of the periodic system, more than 10 to 37% by weight of aluminum oxide and 2 to 10% by weight of inorganic fibers. The solid catalyst body, the active material of which contains a zeolite can be manufactured by extrusion and has a high degree of mechanical stability at a high catalytic activity.
