A method for fitting a carrier with a cable harness having main and branch conductors and with a device. A contact element is arranged on the carrier. A top portion of the main conductor, a bottom portion of a first end of the branch conductor, and a top portion of a second end of the branch conductor are exposed. The conductors are arranged on the carrier with the main conductor lying on the carrier, the exposed bottom portion of the branch conductor contacting the exposed top portion of the main conductor, and the exposed top portion of the branch conductor placed on the contact element for realizing a plug connector. The carrier is fitted with a device having a plug connector such that the device is electrically connected to the branch conductor and mechanically connected to the carrier via a connection between the plug connector and the contact element.

A device for blocking the turnability of the steering spindle of a motor vehicle contains a movable interlocking element that is situated in a lock chamber and engages into the steering spindle in its locked position, as well as an actuating device for actuating the interlocking element This device is characterized by the fact that the lock chamber is passively secured against manipulative access by electric/electronic operating components K required for driving the motor vehicle. This is realized by arranging these operating components K in such a position relative to the lock chamber that the function of at least one operating component K is terminated if manipulative access is attempted.

Device for blocking the ability of a steering shaft of a motor vehicle to rotate

A steering column module electrically connected to the electrical system of a vehicle with the fewest number of connector parts is attached to the outer tube of a steering column of the motor vehicle. The module includes a carrier and functional units attached to the carrier. The carrier is attached to the outer tube of the steering column. Plug-in connector parts are provided on the lower sides of the functional units. A plate-shaped distributing device having upper and lower sides is also included. The distributing device encompasses the steering column and is aligned perpendicular thereto. The distributing device includes mating connector parts on its upper side and a plug-in connector arrangement on its lower side. Each mating connector part is coupled to a respective one of the plug-in connector parts. The plug-in connector arrangement is electrically connected to the mating connector parts and is coupled to a connecting connector part provided on the steering column and linked to the electrical system to electrically connect the module to the electrical system.

Functional module

A steering device for motor vehicles having a steering column positionable in the axial and/or radial direction, in each case over a preset displacement range, via at least one positioning device actuated by external force. Locking of the steering column is implementable by a positioning device such that, when the motor vehicle is switched off, the steering column is positioned thereby into a position lying outside the displacement range(s) in which a torsional force exerted on the steering column via the steering wheel is not transmittable to the steering gear.

Steering device for motor vehicles

An electrical device is situated around the steering column of a motor vehicle underneath the steering wheel, including at least one steering column switch and one signal transfer device. In order that different components may be combined in different ways to form different units, the steering column switches are attached to the fixed section of the signal transfer device by cooperating male and female members so that a complete assembly module consisting of different and variable elements is created. The complete assembly module is attached to a carrier member by a cooperating male and female member means and/or force fitting fastener. The rotatable section of the signal transfer device is provided with an extension which cooperates with a finger-like element on the turn signal steering column switch in the finished module in order to provide a cancelling function.
