A regenerative limiting circuit for potentially explosive areas, for supplying energy to a sensor and for data communication with a sensor, has an input unit, a first limiting unit, a second limiting unit, a monitoring unit, a high-voltage unit, a node unit, and a reference potential. The input unit has first and second data line connections, a supply line connection, and a zero line connection, each for connecting a connection cable. The first limiting unit is connected to the first data line connection, the second limiting unit is connected to the second data line connection and has a resistor and a Zener diode, wherein the Zener diode connects through to the reference potential in each case in the event of an overvoltage. The monitoring unit is connected to the first limiting unit and the second limiting unit, and is suitable for evaluating data.

Circuit for inductive power and data transmission with feedback protection

Disclosed is an armature for receiving a sensor for measuring a medium in a container. The armature includes a hollow cylindrical housing designed to connect the armature to the container at least sectionally in the container. The housing includes first and second openings through which medium flows in or out; a service chamber formed in the interior of the housing between the first and second openings; a rotationally movable closing element in the housing, which, in a first position, opens the first and second openings to the medium and, in a second position, blocks a flow through the first and second openings; a sensor holder; and the sensor arranged on or in the sensor holder. A method for transmitting energy to a sensor comprises transferring energy from a primary side having a primary coil to a secondary side having a secondary coil, wherein the sensor is arranged on the secondary side, wherein transfer of energy occurs via the two coils, wherein the two coils are designed to transmit data bidirectionally; acquiring a measured variable using the sensor; transmitting the measured variable from the secondary side to the primary side; requesting an energy pulse from the primary side when an event occurs that requires more energy; interrupting transmission of the measured variable; transmitting an energy pulse from the primary side to the secondary side; and returning to the normal mode upon acquisition of the measured variable; and transmitting to the primary side the measured variable.
