The present disclosure relates to a display device and to a means of transportation having such a display device. The display device comprises a display panel and a backlight for the display panel. The backlight comprises a reflector having a multiplicity of reflectively configured cavities. In addition, the backlight comprises a multiplicity of light sources arranged in each case in the cavities. Walls of the cavities are configured such that a grid structure of the reflector resulting from the arrangement of the cavities is broken up.

Display device and means of transportation

A pivotable display system having a traction spring tensioned to reversibly pivot the display around a pivot axis of a shaft connected to an upper portion of a display in a direction from a front side of the display toward the rear side of the display. In the event of an accident-related application of force below a threshold, the display is rotatable in a rearward direction toward an instrument panel, so that a steering column pushed in a direction towards the display avoids or at least reduces the risk of destruction of the display. In the event of accident-related application of force above the threshold, the traction spring may reversibly displace the display upwardly away from the steering column.

A display with a two-dimensional display element, which is planar or curved, and an illumination unit for the display element is disclosed. The display has a light source, a light guide and a receiving housing in which the light guide is arranged. The light guide is centered in the middle in its longitudinal direction by means of a centering element in the receiving housing.

The present disclosure relates to a spacer for an assembly of a backlight of a display. The disclosure additionally relates to an assembly for a backlight of a display having such a spacer, and to a display having a backlight having such an assembly. The spacer comprises at least one crosspiece. The crosspiece in this case has attachment surfaces for attachment of a first light guide and a second light guide and a receptacle for a sheet stack.

A connector assembly comprises a mounting portion for mounting the connector to a complementary portion which could be either another connector or a member fixed to a structure such as an automobile's bodywork. The mounting portions comprise interengaging T-shaped walls and T-shaped profiles that are longitudinally slidably interengaged. The mounting portion walls comprise interleaving recesses and extensions and that enable the mounting portions to be interengaged by placing the mounting portions one against each other and then sliding them in opposing directions by only a short travel. The latter enables longitudinally slidable T-profiles to be used but nevertheless over short travel which is advantageous for certain applications to reduce cable length surplus.
