The present invention relates to a laundry-care appliance () having a washing tub () and a deodorizing module () for dispensing deodorizing substance into the washing tub (), wherein the deodorizing module () is connected to the washing tub () and comprises a radial fan () for ventilating the washing tub (), wherein the radial fan () is drivable in a first direction of rotation () and in a second direction of rotation (). The deodorizing module () is configured to dispense deodorizing substance into the washing tub () in a first period of time, wherein the radial fan () is drivable in the first direction of rotation () in the first period of time in order to distribute the deodorizing substance in the washing tub (). The radial fen () is drivable in the second direction of rotation () in a second period of time following the first period of time, in order to remove the deodorizing substance from the washing tub () in the second period of time.

In a method for determining a load and/or an unbalance of a laundry drum of a washing machine driven by an electric motor having a stator with at least one winding coupled to a power inverter controlled by a control unit, the laundry drum is accelerated to a predetermined rotational speed and then slowed down. During the slow-down, the motor operates in generator mode and an electric current flowing through the at least one winding and/or an electric intermediate circuit voltage is measured. The time dependence of the electric power supplied by the electric motor in generator mode is evaluated during a revolution of the laundry drum. The unbalance and/or the load are determined from the measured current values and/or the intermediate circuit voltage and from the determined electric power. A corresponding circuit arrangement and a washing machine with this circuit arrangement are also disclosed.

The rotor cover has at least one cover cap extending from the bearing bracket to at least the front face of the stator, which faces the bearing bracket. A washing machine includes a tub having a bottom wall and a laundry drum having an at least approximately horizontally disposed shaft. A drive device for the washing machine includes a flat motor for directly driving the laundry drum shaft. The motor includes a rotor having a rotor shaft and a stator connected to the bottom wall of the tub instead of to a rigid carrying part with a bearing sleeve for the laundry drum shaft. The stator has a central bearing sleeve with one or two spaced-apart rolling bearings for the rotor shaft. The rotor shaft has an end facing the laundry drum with a concentric bore for receiving the laundry drum shaft. The bore reaches approximately into a plane of the drum-side rolling bearing. The rotor has a bell fastened to an outer end of the rotor shaft with an edge pointing toward the tub. Magnetizable poles are distributed on the inner periphery of the edge and across airgaps oppose a number of exciting windings distributed circularly on the stator. The drive for the horizontally mounted laundry drum has a cost-effective construction, the motor may be fully preassembled at the factory where it is manufactured and the stator may replace an otherwise conventional star carrier for the tub.

A front-loading washing machine includes a tub having a rear wall, an at least approximately horizontally disposed shaft, a laundry drum mounted overhung on the shaft, and a rigid supporting part fitted to the rear wall. A drive device for the washing machine includes a flat-type motor fitted to the rear wall for directly driving the shaft. The motor has a rotor formed entirely of magnetizable steel and a stator connected on the rigid supporting part or to the rear wall of the tub. The stacks are outwardly opposed by the flange with an air gap. The direct drive device for the drum provides good capability of cooling the windings with ambient air, so that the flat, slowly rotating motor cannot overheat during proper operation when dimensioned according to requirements. In addition, the motor can be fully preassembled at its manufacturer's plant.

The flat motor has a rotor with a peripheral portion, a bell-like flange at the peripheral portion facing the washing liquid container, a hub centrally fastened to and encompassing the outer end of the shaft, a plurality of openings between the hub and the peripheral portion, magnetizable poles distributed at the inner periphery of the bell-shaped flange, lamination stacks distributed at the stator and disposed opposite to and spaced apart from the rotor defining a minimum air gap, and exciter windings received by the lamination stacks.
