A fueling nozzle for dispensing a gaseous fuel to a vehicle includes a main body having a conduit formed therein and configured to permit the gaseous fuel to flow therethrough. The conduit terminates at a dispensing end of the main body. The dispensing end of the main body forms an interface with a fuel inlet of the vehicle during a fueling operation. The fueling nozzle further includes a sensor disposed at the dispensing end of the main body adjacent the conduit. The sensor is configured to detect a leakage of the gaseous fuel during the fueling operation.

Fueling nozzle for gaseous fuels with integrated means for gas detection

A fill control system includes a fuel storage vessel, a fuel inlet in fluid communication with the fuel storage vessel to provide fluid communication between a fuel source and the fuel storage vessel, and a fill control valve disposed between and in fluid communication with the fuel inlet and the fuel storage vessel, an actuation of the fill control valve causing a pressure level upstream thereof which emulates a full condition of the fuel storage vessel.

Compressed hydrogen fueling control valve

A shaped plastic exhaust system for a fuel cell vehicle. In one embodiment, the exhaust system employs integrally molded bundle clips that support vehicle brake lines and/or a fuel supply line. An exhaust flow section can be formed into any suitable shape for a particular vehicle design, including a flat rectangular shape giving the exhaust system a low profile. The integral bundle clips can be provided every so often along the exhaust flow section, or can extend the complete length of the exhaust flow section.

Integrated shaped plastic exhaust system for fuel cell vehicles

A thermal pressure relief device (TPRD) is shown and includes a housing having a first end with a first aperture and a second end having a second aperture. The first and second apertures are configured to allow a fluid to flow through the housing. The TPRD includes a trigger member, such as a ball, disposed within the housing. The ball is seated laterally within a retainer. The retainer includes a rim forming a seat for supporting the ball within the housing. The movement of the ball from the first closed position laterally seated within the retainer to the second open position descended within the retainer is caused by an expansion of the rim of the retainer. The rim of the retainer is formed substantially of a temperature sensitive material adapted to expand volumetrically with an increase in temperature. The temperature sensitive material can expand linearly or non-linearly.

Thermal pressure relief device with expansion activation

A fuel cell vehicle is provided with a temperature tolerant exhaust system that eliminates the need for exhaust pipes, pipe routing, support systems, and ground clearance issues. The exhaust system includes a fuel cell exhaust pipe in fluid communication with a fuel cell stack and an exhaust tube. The exhaust tube is supported within an exhaust channel that extends along and forms a part of the underbody of the fuel cell vehicle. Alternatively, the exhaust tube is formed within the interior of the exhaust channel.

Underbody integrated exhaust path for fuel cell vehicles

High pressure hydrogen fittings and methods of sealing a pipe to a valve body. In one embodiment, the high pressure hydrogen fitting includes a pipe having flange near one end; a nut surrounding the pipe on a low pressure side of the flange, the nut having threads mating with threads on a valve body; a lip seal surrounding the pipe on a high pressure side of the flange, the flange supporting the lip seal, the lip seal pointing toward the valve body, the lip seal having a cylindrical sealing surface, the cylindrical seal surface engaging the valve body; wherein when the pipe containing hydrogen is connected to a valve body, a seal is maintained at a pressure of up to about 87.5 MPa.
