An ink jet system comprising a recording material and at least one colored ink to be applied to the recording material by means of an ink jet nozzle, characterized in that at least either the material or the at least one colored ink contains at least one water-soluble compound of general formulae (I) or (II): ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1, Z.sub.1, Z.sub.2, Z.sub.3, Z.sub.4, Z.sub.5, Z.sub.6, X.sub.1, X.sub.2, X.sub.3, X.sub.4, X.sub.5, R.sub.2, R.sub.3, R.sub.4 and n have the meanings given in the description, are distinguished by improved protection of the ink jet dyes from light.

Disclosed is a polyalkylene naphthalate film, preferably the homopolymer of naphthalene-2,6-dicarboxylic acid and ethylene glycol (PEN), comprising a UV absorbing compound of the 2-hydroxyphenyl-triazine type for quenching of the UV fluorescence at 429 nm. The polymeric film is preferably used as support for a photographic material, preferably a color negative or color reversal photographic material.

TiO.sub.2 containing iron oxide having an average primary particle diameter of 1 to 100 nm and an iron oxide content of 0.5 to 20 wt. % is suitable as a UV absorber for photographic materials.

Photographic material

By means of a development intensification process for processing color photographic silver halide materials, the silver halide emulsions of which contain more than 90 mol. % of AgCl and less than 0.8 g of silver halide per m.sup.2 (stated as the equivalent quantity of AgNO.sub.3), short processing times accompanied by stable replenishment rates are obtained if at least one compound of the formulae (I), (II) or (III) is used as the developer substance in a quantity of 0.002 to 0.04 mol/l of developer solution ##STR1## in which R.sub.1 to R.sub.3, R.sub.10 to R.sub.17, R.sub.21 to R.sub.23, m, n and Y have the meaning stated in the specification.

Processing of color photographic silver halide materials

A color photographic recording material having at least one silver halide emulsion layer, which material contains in at least one of its layers a combination of at least one UV absorber of the formula I and at least one low molecular weight or polymeric oil formula containing acid groups, for example of the formula T--�R.sup.21 --(Q.sup.1).sub.p !.sub.q --X.sup.21 --OH (II), exhibits improved absorption for UV light. ##STR1## In the formula I: R.sup.1 and R.sup.3 mean H, halogen, hydroxy, mercapto, alkyl, aryl, alkoxy, aryloxy, acyloxy, alkylthio, arylthio, --NR.sup.5 --R.sup.6, alkoxycarbonyl, carbamoyl or sulphamoyl;
