Methods and apparatuses in a wireless communication system for a user equipment (UE) to perform a power management method. The method includes receiving, by the UE, one or more power parameters for a non-terrestrial network (NTN). The method also includes selecting a power management method from one of: a predictive transmit power method based on time and the distance between the UE and an NTN entity or a non-predictive transmit power method. The method also includes determining a power based on the power management method and the power management parameters. The method further includes transmitting a signal to the reception point using the power.

Enhanced uplink power control

Sparsity assisted channel state information (CSI) reporting or two-step CSI reporting is enabled or disabled for a user equipment. The configuration enabling/disabling sparsity assisted truncation for CSI reporting or two-step CSI reporting includes a domain for transformation of CSI for the sparsity assisted CSI reporting, and a time window for correlated channel. When the configuration enables sparsity assisted truncation for CSI reporting, a fixed number of non-zero coefficients and one or more threshold values for delay/angle or doppler for truncation are configured. When sparsity assisted truncation for CSI reporting is enabled, received the CSI reference signals are measured based on the configuration and a CSI report is transmitted indicating a specific range for which truncation occurred. When two-step CSI reporting is enabled, CSI compression corresponding to the at least one configuration and the time window is performed and CSI feedback is transmitted along with a flag.

Method for utilizing channel sparsity and coherence in CSI feedback

A two-dimensional constellation for data signals having improved bitwise mutual information of data points is based on a signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and a code rate where, based on the SNR, data bits are mapped to pre-defined in-phase and quadrature values. The in-phase and quadrature values denote points in the two-dimensional space such that the efficiency of bitwise mutual information is adapted based on the SNR. The mapping is preferably subject to a constraint selected from one of quadrant symmetry Lagrangian (QSL), quadrant symmetry constraint (QSC), or rectangular structure constraint (RSC).

AI/ML empowered high order modulation

Timing adjustments or frequency offsets that at least partially compensate for Doppler shift (e.g., due to distance of a satellite transmitter or relative speed of a terrestrial receiver) of a signal, physical channel, or resource during wireless transmission are configured. The characteristics compensated comprise one of resource element (RE) mapping, channel state information reference signal (CSI-RS) configuration, bandwidth part (BWP) configuration, or control resource set (CORESET) configuration. Information indicating the multiple configurations is transmitted from a base station (BS) to at least one user equipment (UE). The timing adjustments or frequency offsets are specifically configured for one UE, a group of UEs, or the UEs served by a single serving cell. Joint transmission from multiple cells/TRPs/spotbeams may involve partial/full subcarrier alignment.

Frequency adjustment in wireless transmission and reception

An apparatus, method, system and machine-readable medium. The apparatus may be an apparatus of a New Radio (NR) gNodeB or of a NR User Equipment (UE), and may include a memory and processing circuitry. The processing circuitry for the apparatus of the gNodeB is to: configure a plurality of bandwidth parts (BWPs) associated with respective numerologies; determine a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) including downlink control information (DCI), the DCI including information on scheduled resources including BWP index for a data transmission to or from a User Equipment (UE), the data transmission to occupy one of the plurality of BWPs or multiple ones of the plurality of BWPs; encode the PDCCH for transmission; and process the data transmission based on the DCI. The apparatus of the NR UE is to: process a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) from a NR gNodeB, the PDCCH including downlink control information (DCI) indicating scheduled resources for a data transmission to or from the UE, the data transmission to occupy one or multiple ones of a plurality of BWPs configured by the gNodeB; and process the data transmission based on the DCI.

Enhancement on scheduling and HARQ-ACK feedback for URLLC, multiplexing scheme for control/data channel and DM-RS for NR, and activation mechanism, scheduling aspects, and synchronization signal (SS) blocks for new radio (NR) system with multiple bandwidth parts (BWPS)

Apparatuses and methods for random access procedures with multiple transmission reception points or cells in a wireless communication system. A method for performing random access (RA) procedures by a user equipment includes receiving a first configuration for RA. The method further includes initiating a first RA procedure with a first transmission-reception point (TRP) based on the first configuration and initiating a second RA procedure with a second TRP prior to completion of the first RA procedure. A method for operating a base station includes transmitting a first configuration for RA corresponding to a first TRP and transmitting a second configuration for RA corresponding to a second TRP. The first TRP and the second TRP are associated with a same cell.

Method and apparatus for random access in wireless communication systems

Herein described are apparatuses, systems, and methods for measurement and reporting of channel state information within wireless network systems. In embodiments, an apparatus for a user equipment (UE) may include memory to store a rank indicator (RI), a precoding matrix index (PMI), and a channel quality indicator (CQI) of channel state information (CSI) for the UE. The apparatus may further include circuitry to concatenate the RI, the PMI, and the CQI to produce a concatenated CSI element, generate a CSI report that includes the concatenated CSI element, and cause the CSI report to be transmitted to a base station within a single slot. Other embodiments may be described and/or claimed.

Channel state information concatenation and antenna port measurement

Resources are configured, by frame/subframe/slot/symbol, for uplink communication components, downlink communication components, radar sensing components, or flexible components. Flexible components are configured by symbol for uplink or downlink communications, radar sensing, or flexible usage. Full, partial or no overlap between resources for uplink, downlink or sidelink communication and resources for radar sensing may be configured. Frequency configuration for radar sensing may be in absolute units or grid units, and waveforms other than OFDM may be used for radar sensing. Configuration may be initiated by a base station in response to explicit or implicit request by a UE for sensing resources. A UE may sense resources within a configured resource pool for availability before using the resources for radar sensing.

Sensing in wireless communications system

The disclosure describes configuration schemes for secondary cell (SCell), bandwidth part (BWP) and physical resource block (PRB) indexing. An apparatus of user equipment (UE) for BWP activation and deactivation operation is disclosed. The apparatus includes baseband circuitry that includes a radio frequency (RF) interface, and one or more processors. The one or more processors are to receive radio resource control (RRC) data via the RF interface, configure a timer for a BWP according to the RRC data, and trigger the timer for the BWP in response to detection of an event associated with an access node after the BWP has been activated.

Configuration schemes for secondary cell, bandwidth part and physical resource block indexing

Capability of a user equipment to support machine learning adaptation by a base station of a reference signal pattern is signaled between the base station and the user equipment. Configuration information from the base station indicates one or more of enabling or disabling of machine learning adaptation of the reference signal pattern, a machine learning model used for machine learning adaptation of the reference signal pattern, updated model parameters for the machine learning model, or whether model parameters received from the user equipment will be used for machine learning adaptation of the reference signal pattern. Model training may be performed or model parameters received, and reference signals are received from the base station. Information on a reference signal pattern may be transmitted by the user equipment to the serving base station. Assistance information may be transmitted by the user equipment to the base station, which configures a reference signal pattern.

Method and apparatus for reference symbol pattern adaptation

Described is an apparatus of a User Equipment (UE) operable to communicate with a fifth-generation Evolved Node-B (gNB) on a wireless network. The apparatus may comprise a first circuitry and a second circuitry. The first circuitry may be operable to process a message comprising an indicator to indicate a number of contention based physical random access channel (PRACH) preambles within a PRACH occasion per Synchronization Signal Block (SSB). The second circuitry may be operable to generate a first PRACH occasion, based on the indicator.

Control resource set information in physical broadcast channel

A synchronization signal block (SSB) including a primary synchronization signal (PSS), a secondary synchronization signal (SSS), a physical broadcast channel (PBCH) is transmitted using first and second beams. One or more symbols adjoining the first and second synchronization signals are configured to accommodate a beam switching time. At least one signal indicates a beam index for the first beam transmitting the first synchronization signal, and the beam index for the second beam transmitting the second synchronization signal is either signaled or determined based on a predetermined relationship between a resource for the first synchronization signal and a resource for the second synchronization signal. The beam indices may comprise first and second numbers of bits and/or may be jointly encoded. The beam indices may be indicated by one of the PSS, the SSS, the PBCH, a demodulation reference signal (DMRS), or a synchronization or reference signal designated for that purpose.

Method and apparatus for indication and transmission of downlink signal/channel for initial access

An apparatus of a New Radio (NR) User Equipment (UE), a method and system. The apparatus includes one or more processors to encode a two part CSI including: encode a two part CSI including: encoding information bits of a first channel state information (CSI) type and information bits of a second CSI part to generate, respectively, encoded bits of a first CSI part and encoded bits of a second CSI part, a payload size of the second CSI part being based on encoded bits of the first CSI part and further being encoded separately from information bits of the first CSI part; and mapping the encoded bits of the first CSI part onto a first physical resource and the encoded bits of the second CSI part onto a second physical resource different from the first physical resource; and configure the two part CSI in a long or short PUCCH for transmission to a NR evolved Node B (gNodeB).
