A channel transmission/reception method and an apparatus for transmitting/receiving channels between a base station and a mobile terminal efficiently in a mobile communication supporting massive Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) transmission are provided. The method includes determining a resource to which a Demodulation Reference Signal (DMRS) addressed to a terminal is mapped within a resource block, the DMRS resource being positioned in at least one of a first resource set capable of being allocated for DMRS and a second resource set symmetric with the first resource set on a time axis, and transmitting the DMRS and DMRS allocation information to the terminal.

Method and apparatus for transmitting/receiving channels in mobile communication system supporting massive MIMO

A base station (BS) and user equipment (UE) are configured to perform measurement/reporting and spectrum coordination request/response in wireless networks. A method for operating a UE includes receiving configuration information for measuring interference from a neighboring cell, measuring the interference from the neighboring cell based on the configuration information, and computing a change in the measured interference from the neighboring cell based on a current measured interference level and a previous measured interference level. The method further includes determining, based on at least in part a determination that the change in the measured interference exceeds a first threshold, whether to generate a measurement report and transmitting the measurement report on an uplink channel.

Radio resource management and spectrum coordination

An electronic device, a base station, and a method for managing a shared spectrum. The electronic device includes a processor configured to cause the electronic device to obtain coexistence measurement reports (CMRs) from the plurality of BSs; identify interference relationships among the plurality of BSs based on the CMRs; assign a set of BSs to one or more basic allocation units (BAUs) in a plurality of BAUs based on the interference relationships; and transmit a spectrum access grant (SAG) to the set of BSs, wherein the SAG includes BAU assignments for the set of BSs. Each BAU in the plurality of BAUs is a time/frequency unit and the set of BSs includes a primary BS and a secondary BS. The secondary BS can transmit in the one or more BAUs when a transmission of the secondary BS does not interfere with a transmission of the primary BS.

Centralized coordination for shared spectrum systems

Herein described are apparatuses, systems, and methods for measurement and reporting of channel state information within wireless network systems. In embodiments, an apparatus for a user equipment (UE) may include memory to store a rank indicator (RI), a precoding matrix index (PMI), and a channel quality indicator (CQI) of channel state information (CSI) for the UE. The apparatus may further include circuitry to concatenate the RI, the PMI, and the CQI to produce a concatenated CSI element, generate a CSI report that includes the concatenated CSI element, and cause the CSI report to be transmitted to a base station within a single slot. Other embodiments may be described and/or claimed.

Channel state information concatenation and antenna port measurement

Techniques related to physical uplink control channel procedures are described. Briefly, in accordance with one embodiment, an Uplink Control Information (UCI) payload size is determined based at least in part on configuration information and Downlink Control Information (DCI). A Fifth Generation (5G) Physical Uplink Control Channel (xPUCCH) format is then determined based at least in part on the determined UCI payload size. Other embodiments are also disclosed and claimed.

Physical uplink control channel procedures

A service management and orchestration (SMO) entity enabling a functional split between a non-real-time (RT) radio access network (RAN) intelligent controller (RIC) and an external artificial intelligence (AI)/machine learning (ML) server will, during a data collection phase, utilize the SMO entity and the non-RT RIC to collect and process RAN data and non-RAN data and, during a data transfer phase, transfer processed RAN and non-RAN data from the SMO entity to an external AI/ML server via an interface. During a training model input phase, the SMO entity receives a trained AI/ML model, metadata, and training results from the external AI/ML server via an interface and, during a configuration phase, the SMO entity uses the trained AI/ML model within the SMO entity and the non-RT RIC to transfer configuration parameters to a near-RT RIC.

Methods and apparatuses for uplink timing and frequency synchronization in a wireless communication system. A method for operating a user equipment (UE) includes receiving, from a base station (BS), information indicating satellite ephemeris information of a communication satellite associated with the BS, a common timing advance (TA), and a compensated frequency offset (FO). The method further includes transmitting a physical random access channel (PRACH) based on the common TA and the compensated FO and receiving a random access response (RAR) indicating a UE-specific TA and FO. The method further includes, for transmission of an uplink (UL) channel, adjusting a TA and pre-compensating a FO based on the UE-specific TA and FO, respectively.

Uplink timing and frequency synchronization

Described is an apparatus of a User Equipment (UE) operable to communicate with a fifth-generation Evolved Node-B (gNB) on a wireless network. The apparatus may comprise a first circuitry and a second circuitry. The first circuitry may be operable to process a message comprising an indicator to indicate a number of contention based physical random access channel (PRACH) preambles within a PRACH occasion per Synchronization Signal Block (SSB). Embodiments of a User Equipment (UE), Next Generation Node-B (gNB) and methods of communication are generally described herein. A channel state information (CSI) report may include a CSI part 1 transmission and may be configurable to include a CSI part 2 transmission. The UE may determine a first number of coded modulation symbols per layer to be used for the CSI part 1 transmission on a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) without uplink shared channel (UL-SCH) data. The first number of coded modulation symbols per layer may be determined as: a minimum of a first term and a second term if the CSI report includes the CSI part 2 transmission; and the second term if the CSI report does not include the CSI part 2 transmission.

The present invention relates to a method for transmitting, by a terminal, a sounding reference signal (SRS) or a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) in a mobile communication system. A communication method for a terminal in a communication system which supports the combination of configuration carrier using FDD scheme and configuration carrier using TDD scheme, in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention, comprises the steps of: receiving SRS transmission setting information from a base station; receiving uplink data scheduling information from the base station; determining whether or not the simultaneous transmission of the SRS transmission and the uplink data occurs; and setting the transmission of the uplink data or the SRS so that when the simultaneous transmission of the SRS transmission and the uplink data occurs, the sum of the respective transmission powers of the first and second symbols in an FDD cell and the first and second symbols of a TDD cell is not greater than the maximum transmission power of the terminal, wherein the timing of the first symbol in the FDD cell corresponds to the timing of the first symbol in the TDD cell, and the timing of the second symbol in the FDD cell corresponds to the timing of the second symbol in the TDD cell. In accordance with an embodiment of the present invention, defining the SRS transmission method of the terminal in a wireless communication system causes the terminal to effectively transmit the uplink data.

Method and apparatus for transmitting SRS in wireless cellular mobile communication system

A control information utilization method and an apparatus of a terminal with heterogenous technology communication modules operating in a same frequency band are provided to protect against unnecessary battery power consumption. A control information reception method of a terminal includes receiving control information from a base station using a first module, determining a channel occupancy time based on the control information using a licensed assisted access (LAA) radio identifier, and transferring the channel occupancy time to a second module that is operating in a same frequency band as the first module.

Control information utilization method and apparatus of terminal in mobile communication system

Doppler pre-compensation is performed on synchronization signals using each of multiple Doppler pre-compensation patterns to generate a plurality of sets of Doppler pre-compensated synchronization signals that are transmitted using one or more beams. A signal indicating the Doppler pre-compensation patterns used is transmitted in one of a system information block (SIB) or a radio resource control (RRC) reconfiguration message, in connection with initial access by a user equipment (UE), idle UE cell reselection, connected UE data channel reception, or UE handover. The signal indicates Doppler pre-compensation patterns for a transmitting cell and Doppler pre-compensation patterns for one or more neighbor cells. The synchronization signal comprises a synchronization signal block (SSB) including a primary synchronization signal (PSS) and a secondary synchronization signal (SSS). Received Doppler pre-compensated synchronization signals are combined in the time domain in connection with timing synchronization detection, frequency offset (FO) estimation, or reference signal received power (RSRP) measurement.

Mechanisms for handling doppler effect

A non-terrestrial network (NTN) node transmits configuration information including an indication of a maximum transmission block size (TBS) for a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) transmission or a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH).
