A method and a system track network access information for authorized network devices. The access information facilitates tracking movement of the device throughout the network. In addition the access information can be used to detect when an unauthorized device attempts to access the network, posing as an authorized device.

System and apparatus for rogue VoIP phone detection and managing VoIP phone mobility

In one embodiment, a method includes receiving an internet protocol (IP) packet including encoded media content. A media-quality-value is calculated based on a value of at least one parameter associated with the IP packet and based on a quality equation. The quality equation includes at least one parameter and at least one constant that are defined so that media-quality-values calculated using the quality equation substantially correlate with subjective quality measurements.

Method and system for quality monitoring of media over internet protocol (MOIP)

An apparatus equipped with Radio Frequency Identity (RFID) reader and LAN/WAN access reads an RFID tag attached to a Video and Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP) phone. The apparatus retrieves phone information, including such information as an Ethernet Media Access Control (MAC) address from the RFID tag and requests that a VoIP call server register the phone automatically. A VoIP service operator can register multiple phones without opening phone packaging. Additional information such as a directory number (DN) or a phone user name can be associated with the phone during the registration process using the apparatus.
