An antenna device of a portable terminal including conductive components is provided. The antenna device includes a first radiator connected to a power feeding unit of the portable terminal and a second radiator connected to each of the power feeding unit and a ground part of the portable terminal. At least one of the conductive components is connected to at least one the first radiator and the second radiator. The conductive components may be used as a radiator of the antenna device such that the antenna device may be easily installed within an inner space of a miniaturized and lightened portable terminal and the inner space of the portable terminal may be efficiently used.

An electronic device is provided. The electronic device includes a front cover forming a front surface, a rear cover forming a rear surface, a sidewall at least partially enclosing a space formed between the front cover and the rear cover and at least partially formed of a conductive member, a display disposed in the space and including a screen region exposed through the front cover, a non-conductive structure disposed in adjacent to the sidewall or in contact with the sidewall in the space and including a first surface facing the front cover and a second surface facing the rear cover, a first antenna pattern overlapping the non-conductive structure and fed with electricity, a second antenna pattern overlapping the non-conductive structure and disposed adjacent to the first antenna pattern to form electromagnetic-field coupling with the first antenna pattern, and an integrated circuit chip feeding electricity to the first antenna pattern.

The electronic device includes a circuit board, a frame, a feeding structure formed on the circuit board, and an antenna unit disposed in a plane at a predetermined angle with respect to a surface of the circuit board. In addition, the antenna unit is disposed apart from the frame in electrical connection with the feeding structure.

A portable terminal includes an antenna device having a circuit board on a surface of which a conductive layer is formed, a slit that removes a portion of the conductive layer and extends in a direction, an auxiliary board positioned on the slit to face a surface of the circuit board, and a radiation pattern formed on the auxiliary board, in which the radiation pattern is disposed to partially enclose the slit. Even when the radiation pattern is disposed on the conductive layer, induced current generated around the slit can be controlled in the same direction as signal power, thereby preventing radiation performance from being degraded by an inverse current phenomenon in spite of disposition of the radiation pattern on the conductive layer.

An example antenna device may includes a base member, an antenna that is attached to the base member, and a cover member that is attached to surround at least a part of the base member and at least a part of the antenna. A first part of the base member that is attached to the cover member has a melting temperature equal to or lower than that of the cover member. A second part of the base member to which the antenna is attached has a higher melting temperature than the cover member.

Antenna device and manufacturing method thereof

An antenna apparatus for a portable terminal having a main board is provided. The antenna apparatus includes a main antenna that electrically connects to a feed line of the main board. A metal frame is constructed as part of a case frame forming an exterior of the portable terminal. The metal frame is divided into first and second parts that are separated. The first part electrically connects to the main antenna or to the main board feed line, and is designed to radiate. The second part electrically connects to a ground surface of the main board. The metal frame enhances overall antenna performance rather than causing degradation through interference.

The radiation portion further comprises a second slit extending from the first slit to the lateral periphery of the circuit board across part of the conductive layer forming the radiation portion, and a frequency adjustment element placed on the second slit.

Broadband variable antenna device and portable terminal having the same

An antenna apparatus and an electronic device having the same is provided. The electronic device includes an antenna radiator formed in a loop shape having at least one opening end part opened by a slit, at least a portion of the at least one opening end part is fed, at least one electronic component of metal material electrically connected with the antenna radiator, and at least one metal member arranged around the antenna radiator, where the at least one opening end part is formed in a reverse direction from the direction of the metal member.

A portable terminal is provided. The portable terminal includes a main housing, a sub housing, a mainboard, and an electric connector. The main housing has a first antenna radiator. The sub housing is separable from the main housing and has a second antenna radiator. The mainboard is disposed in the main housing and processes a radio signal. The electric connector is disposed in the main housing. When the sub housing and the main housing are separated from each other, the electric connector electrically connects the mainboard with the first antenna radiator of the main housing. When the sub housing and the main housing are coupled, the electric connector electrically connects the mainboard with the second antenna radiator of the sub housing.
