An apparatus and a method with image recognition-based security are disclosed. The method includes, for an unlocked terminal, tracking a face detected in a previous frame, detecting a background region change between the previous frame and a current frame based on a region of the tracked face, when the background region change is not detected, determining whether a state maintenance time fails to meet a preset time, in response to the state maintenance time failing to meet the preset time, determining an operation mode to be a first operation mode for determining whether recognition succeeds for the current frame, performing the first operation mode, including performing face detection with respect to the current frame, and maintaining the unlocked state of the terminal for the current frame when the face is detected as a result of the performing of the face detection, representing that the recognition succeeded for the current frame.

Apparatus and method with image recognition-based security

A liveness determining method and apparatus are provided. The liveness determining apparatus includes an optical sensor including at least one optical source; a memory configured to store registered color information; and at least one processor configured to: obtain, from the optical sensor, an input fingerprint image of an object corresponding to the at least one optical source, obtain input color information from the input fingerprint image, compare the input color information and the registered color information, and determine liveness of the object based on a result of the comparing.

The liveness determining method includes extracting, by a processor, a feature from an input fingerprint image, inputting the feature into the current layer classifier, inputting the feature into the subsequent layer classifier, based on a determination that an output of the current layer classifier is live, and determining a liveness of the input fingerprint image to be false, based on a determination that an output of the subsequent layer classifier is fake, wherein the current layer classifier and the subsequent layer classifier are respectively trained based on a plurality of training fake images belonging to different groups.

The fingerprint verification method includes performing a first matching between a fingerprint image and a first registered fingerprint image; based on a result of the first matching, performing a second matching between the fingerprint image and a second registered fingerprint image, the second registered fingerprint image being different from the first registered fingerprint image; and verifying the fingerprint based on the result of the first matching and a result of the second matching.
