A lateral plate element (') for a link means (&#x2032;) for a self-stacking, helical endless conveyor belt (), the lateral plate element, comprises an outer plate section (), an inner plate section () and a bridging plate section () bridging the outer and inner plate sections (). The outer plate section () comprises a top subsection () extending in a first plane and wherein the inner plate section () comprises a top subsection () extending in a second plane, the second plane being offset, in an inward direction (A). The outer plate section () further comprises a bottom subsection () arranged in a bottom part of the outer plate section () and extending in a third plane being offset in the inward direction (A) with regard to the first plane. The lateral plate element further comprises a reinforcement () extending between the top subsection () and the bottom subsection () of the outer plate section ().

An apparatus for gas treatment of products rises a housing having top, bottom and side walls; a conveyor belt for transporting the products along a first path in the housing; a tunnel having perforated walls and enclosing the conveyor belt along the first path; a gas circulation device communicating with the tunnel via the perforated walls for circulating gas into the tunnel in the form of gas jets impinging upon the products carried by the conveyor belt, and out of the tunnel in a return channel back to the gas circulation device; and a gas conditioning device positioned in the return channel. At least one substantially vertical part of the connecting walls of the high-pressure chamber is removable so as to provide access to the inside of the pressure chamber, and at least one of the side walls of the housing along the high-pressure chamber may be movable so as to widen the space between at least one wall and the high-pressure chamber.

Apparatus for gas treatment of products

The elements are juxtaposed to form the surface area ( ), they are further movable relative to each other for changing of the relative position of at least one element at a time, and finally they each occupy such a small surface in the surface area that the change of relative position is possible also after the food product part contacting the tray has been frozen.

Apparatus for freezing

A method and apparatus for freezing a surface layer of food product (6), placed on a non-foraminous conveyor belt (7) wherein cold air in the form of jets is blown towards the underside of the non-foraminous conveyor belt. The apparatus for carrying out the method comprises, in addition to the non-foraminous conveyor belt (7), a plurality of stationary nozzles (14) for producing jets towards the underside of the non-foraminous conveyor belt in an area which extends over the width of the non-foraminous conveyor belt.
