An apparatus comprising: a controller configured to: receive one or more sensed signals from one or more wearable sensors, wherein a wearable sensor is for sensing a user's body and outputting a sensed signal dependent upon one or more biological processes of the user; process the one or more sensed signals and detect one or more bio signals that are determined by the one or more biological processes of the user; and process the one or more sensed signals to detect a user input signal indicative of: the user touching the user's body, and/or the user touching at least one of the wearable sensors, and/or relative movement of at least one of the wearable sensors relative to the user's body, and process the user input signal to identify a user input command.

A method, apparatus and computer program product are provided for providing mobile services outside of cellular coverage. In the context of a method, an indication is received, at an intermediate device, of data for transmission to a target device for which cellular network communication between an originating device and the target device is not currently available. The method also includes receiving data corresponding to the indication from a memory buffer associated with a short range communication link. The method further includes causing communication of the data via a long range communication link to enable communication of the data to the target device.

Method, apparatus, and computer program product for powering electronic devices

A method, apparatus, and correspondingly configured computer program, in which a querying device inputs a user an identification of desired content and sends a query request for the desired content to surrounding memory devices. The query request is adapted to cause compatible receiving memory devices to perform a search based on the request. The memory devices are configured to listen to query requests and responsively perform searches based on the queries. Any memory device that finds content according to the query request responds to the query device which, after sending the query request, monitors for the compatible receiving memory devices for information that the queried content is found. Responsive to receiving the information from a given memory device, the querying device establishes a connection with the given memory device and obtains the content.

A system for controlling access to resources in an apparatus when the apparatus is not active. Emerging technologies may allow information to be accessed in an apparatus memory without the operating system of the apparatus facilitating the access. In such instances, a subsystem in the apparatus may become active upon reception of wireless signals, and may grant direct access to memory. An access control configuration for the subsystem may be implemented in order to control memory access even when other software systems are inactive. The subsystem access control configuration may be configured (e.g., by the user) when the apparatus is active, and may be established (e.g., installed or updated) upon subsystem activation.

The invention relates to an apparatus and method for estimating the distance between a transmitter and a receiver. A method comprising obtaining a signal from a receiver; determining whether the signal more likely propagated through a line-of-sight (LOS) radio channel or a non lme-of-sight (NLOS) radio channel; using a model including parameters selected according to the radio channel to estimate the distance between the receiver and a transmitter which sent the signal.

A method and apparatus of synchronizing pulsed wireless communication between a first transceiver and a second transceiver. It includes the steps of transmitting a pulse signal from a first transceiver to a second transceiver; transmitting a reflection signal from the second transceiver to the first transceiver if the transmitted pulse signal is received at the second transceiver within an active reception period of the second transceiver; and detecting the reflection pulse to determine synchronization between the first transceiver and the second transceiver. Method and apparatus for close proximity device discovery

In one embodiment, an apparatus comprises a nano-scale spectrum sensor configured to be electromagnetically excitable at a predetermined frequency based on received ambient electromagnetic radiation.
