Disclosed is a disinfection robot capable of autonomous driving and recognition of a disinfection target. The disinfection robot includes: a recognition unit configured to generate recognition information by recognizing a surrounding environment of the disinfection robot; a movement unit configured to move a position of the disinfection robot; a light source unit configured to emit a light of a predetermined wavelength area for disinfection; an injection unit configured to inject a fluid for disinfection; and a control unit configured to move the disinfection robot through the movement unit based on the recognition information, wherein the control unit is configured to identify a disinfection target from the recognition information and control at least one of the light source unit and the injection unit to perform disinfection to at least one of the surrounding environment of the disinfection robot and the disinfection target.

A human-following robot for searching a following target when failing to track the following target includes a location estimating module configured to estimate a location of the following target based on map information and trajectory information, a search range setting module configured to set a search range of the following target based on the estimated location information and human walking pattern information, and tracking module configured to track the following target after moving to the search range. Since the robot estimates a location of a missed following target and the moves to the estimated location by utilizing map information and human walking pattern information including walking pattern data of persons in a surrounding environment, which is accumulated during a predetermined period, the following target may be detected again.

Disclosed herein is a signal processing apparatus and method for removing a reflected wave generated by a robot platform. The signal processing apparatus includes a transfer function measuring unit for measuring an inter-channel transfer function (IcTF) from signals of a plurality of channels; an impulse response obtaining unit for obtaining an inter-channel impulse response (IcIR) from the IcTF measured by the transfer function measuring unit; and reflected wave removing unit for removing the reflected wave by differentiating a direct wave directly generated by a sound source and the reflected wave with a time delay from the IcIR obtained by the impulse response obtaining unit. The signal processing method of removing a reflected wave includes measuring an IcTF from signals of a plurality of channels; obtaining an IcIR from the measured IcTF; and removing the reflected wave by differentiating a direct wave directly generated by a sound source and a the reflected wave with a time delay from the obtained IcIR.

Disclosed herein are an artificial ear and a method for detecting the direction of a sound source using the same. The artificial ear includes a plurality of microphones; and one or more structures disposed between the plurality of microphones. In the artificial ear, the amplitudes of output signals respectively inputted to the plurality of microphones are designed to be different based on the direction of a sound source. The method for detecting the direction of a sound source includes receiving output signals with different amplitudes from a plurality of microphones; determining front-back discrimination of the sound source from a difference between the amplitudes of the output signals of the microphones; and determining an angle corresponding to the position of the sound source from a difference between delay times of the output signals of the microphones.

A sound source localization system includes a plurality of microphones for receiving a signal as an input from a sound source; a time-difference extraction unit for decomposing the signal inputted through the plurality of microphones into time, frequency and amplitude using a sparse coding and then extracting a sparse interaural time difference (SITD) inputted through the plurality of microphones for each frequency; and a sound source localization unit for localizing the sound source using the SITDs. A sound source localization method includes receiving a signal as an input from a sound source; decomposing the signal into time, frequency and amplitude using a sparse coding; extracting an SITD for each frequency; and localizing the sound source using the SITDs.
