A data transmission method and an apparatus to communicate data on multiple carriers in the mobile communication system are provided. A random access method of a terminal in a mobile communication system including primary and secondary cells operating on multiple carriers according to the present invention includes communicating data after random access in the primary cell, receiving, when the random access is triggered in the secondary cell, information for use in the secondary cell random access from the primary cell, transmitting a preamble in the secondary cell based on the received information, monitoring the primary cell to receive a Random Access Response for the secondary cell, and applying, when the Random Access Response for the secondary cell is received, the information carried in the Random Access Response to the secondary cell in which the preamble has been transmitted.

The present invention relates to a method and an apparatus for proving a user expression service in a communication system. The present invention provides a method and system for managing temporary block flow in a data communication network environment. In one embodiment, a temporary block flow is established between the first entity and the second entity. Then, it is determined whether the established TBF is to be maintained for a predetermined time period by the first entity based on quality of service (QoS) parameters associated with the established TBF. Further, a message indicating that the established TBF is to be maintained for the predetermined time period is sent to the second entity if the established TBF is to be maintained. Also, the established TBF between the first entity and the second entity is extended in uplink or delayed in downlink. If the established TBF is not to be maintained, the TBF established between the first entity and the second entity is teared down.

Method and system for managing a temporary block flow in a data communication network environment

A method and system are provided for allocating timeslots in a Multiple Users Reusing One Slot (MUROS) environment. A method includes receiving measurement data from a first mobile station over the uplink channel; evaluating a set of parameters associated with pairing the first mobile station in the uplink channel and the downlink channel, respectively, based on the measurement data; associating a first timeslot in a frame between the first mobile station and a set of mobile stations for uplink data transmission using the evaluated set of parameters; and associating a second timeslot in the frame between the first mobile station and a second set of mobile stations for downlink data transmission using the evaluated set of parameters.

Methods and apparatus are provided for transmitting/receiving data in consideration of carrier frequency in the mobile communication system using multiple transmission antennas for increasing data rate and system throughput. A number of antennas and a plurality of symbols are determined via an in-phase domain and a quadrature-phase domain. The symbols are mapped according to the number of antennas and the in-phase domain and the quadrature-phase domain. The mapped symbols are transmitted through corresponding antennas.

Apparatus and method for transmitting/receiving data in mobile communication system

A method and system for managing communication in a wireless communication network is provided. The method includes receiving a request from a first communication device to establish a first communication channel. A first time slot is assigned to the first communication device to establish the first communication channel. The method then receives a request from a second communication device to establish a second communication channel. Thereafter, the first time slot and a second time slot is simultaneously assigned to the second communication device for establishing the second communication channel. A first value of at least one of a plurality of predefined parameters at the first time slot is below a first threshold value. The first value of the at least one of the plurality of predefined parameters, is then monitored. Thereafter, the method relinquishes the second communication channel established using the second time slot based on the first value.
