In certain aspects, a clamp includes first and second transistors coupled in series between a power bus and a ground. The clamp also includes a resistive voltage divider configured to bias a gate of the first transistor and a gate of the second transistor based on a supply voltage on the power bus. The clamp further includes a capacitive voltage divider configured to turn on the first and second transistors in response to a voltage transient on the power bus exceeding a trigger threshold voltage.

An envelope tracking system includes an envelope signal generator, a supply modulator coupled to the envelope signal generator, the supply modulator comprising a switching regulator path configured to provide an output voltage at an output node to a power amplifier when in an average power tracking (APT) mode, the switching regulator path configured to operate together with a linear path to provide the output voltage at the output node to the power amplifier when in an envelope tracking (ET) mode, a capacitor having a first and second terminal, the first terminal coupled to ground, a switch coupled between the output node and the second terminal of the capacitor, the switch being configured to selectively disconnect the capacitor from the output node, and a circuit coupled between the output node and the second terminal of the capacitor, the circuit comprising a bi-directional current-limiting switch, the circuit configured to charge or discharge the capacitor such that a voltage across the capacitor changes from a first voltage to a second voltage.

Envelope tracking system having fast transition time for a radio frequency (RF) amplifier

A power converter includes a voltage source for generating an input voltage, and a regulation circuit for generating a set of output voltages based on the input voltage. The regulation circuit regulates the set of output voltages in different manners based on whether the set of output voltages is greater or less than a set of corresponding reference voltages, respectively. If one or more output voltages are less than one or more of the corresponding reference voltages, the regulation circuit regulates only those one or more output voltages during a current regulation interval based on an error voltage related to one or more differences between the one or more output voltages and the corresponding one or more reference voltages, respectively. If all output voltages are greater than the corresponding reference voltages, the regulation circuit regulates only the output voltage associated with the largest load current during the current regulation interval.

Switched common-mode current control for single-inductor-multiple-output (SIMO) power converters

Exemplary embodiments are directed to power path switching between multiple charging ports of an electronic device. A device may include a charging port of a plurality of charging ports for coupling to a power supply via an over-voltage protection circuit. The device may further including a comparison unit configured to couple the charging port to the power supply based at least partially on a comparison between a voltage at an input of the over-voltage protection circuit coupled to the charging port with a voltage at the output of the over-voltage protection circuit coupled to the power supply.

Power path switching in an electronic device including a plurality of charging ports

A distributed RF/microwave power detector for detecting the power of a signal is provided. The distributed RF/microwave power detector includes a power detector on or at least partially embedded in a single substrate. The distributed RF/microwave power detector includes a detection unit that has a distributed amplifier for amplifying the signal and outputting an amplified signal, and a detector for detecting the power of the amplified signal. The distributed RF/microwave power detector further includes at least one additional detection unit cascaded with the first. The additional detection unit includes an additional distributed amplifier for amplifying the amplified signal and outputting a further amplified signal, as well as an additional detector for detecting a power of the further amplified signal. The distributed RF/microwave power detector also includes a multiplexer for multiplexing outputs of the detector and at least one additional detector, each having a dynamic range different from the other.
