The present disclosure relates to an adhesive composition and a method for preparing the same, and more particularly, to an adhesive composition having high biodegradability and excellent mechanical properties while being biocompatible, and a method for preparing the same.

The present invention relates to a method of preparing a hierarchically porous polymer and a hierarchically porous polymer prepared thereby. The method comprises the steps of: (a) polymerizing an external oil phase of a high internal phase emulsion (HIPE) consisting aqueous droplets to produce a cross-linked block copolymer; (b) obtaining a macroporous polymer with interconnected macropores by removing the aqueous droplets; and (c) treating the obtained porous polymer with a base, thereby obtaining a hierarchically porous polymer having three-dimensional mesopores formed in the macroporous walls. According to the method, the macropore size and mesopore size of the hierarchically porous polymer can all be controlled. The hierarchically porous polymer prepared by the method can easily separate polymers having different sizes, and thus is highly useful in the polymer separation field.

Disclosed are a method of allocating unique identifiers to slave battery managers for managing battery modules by a master battery manager and a battery management system using the same, and the method includes making a request for allocation information to the slave battery managers; receiving the allocation information from the slave battery managers; and allocating the unique identifiers to the slave battery managers based on the allocation information, wherein the allocation information contains an MAC address of a device performing a calibration between the slave battery manager and the battery module and time information on a time when the calibration is performed. Disclosed herein is a heat exchange system for battery packs, which controls the temperature of a medium- or large-sized battery pack including a plurality of unit cells such that the battery pack can be operated under the optimum operating conditions. The heat exchange system includes an air inlet port and an air outlet port formed at one side of a housing surrounding the outer surface of the battery pack so as to form a predetermined flow channel, through which air flows, a driving fan mounted in the flow channel for driving the air to flow through the flow channel, and a Peltier element mounted at the air inlet port for controlling the temperature of air introduced into the air inlet port. In the heat exchange system according to the present invention, the thermoelectric element is mounted inside the air inlet port, through which air for cooling the battery pack is introduced into the heat exchange system. Consequently, the present invention has the effect of easily controlling the optimum operating temperature of the battery pack, reducing influences caused by external conditions, and decreasing noise and vibration.

Disclosed herein is a battery pack including a module assembly consisting of two or more unit modules having different outputs and capacities, a detection unit for detecting the current and/or the voltage of the battery pack and transmitting the detected current signal and/or the detected voltage signal to a control unit, the control unit for selecting an optimal unit module from the module assembly based on the current signal and/or the voltage signal received from the detection unit, and a switching unit for electrically connecting a specific unit module of the module assembly to an external input and output terminal under the control of the control unit. In the battery pack according to the present invention, an appropriate unit module is selected and operated depending upon the operating conditions of a device in which the battery pack is mounted, whereby the operating efficiency of the battery pack is improved.

Disclosed herein is a heat exchange system that controls the temperature of a medium- or large-sized battery pack including a plurality of unit cells. The heat exchange system includes a sealed type housing surrounding the outer surface of the battery pack such that a predetermined flow channel, through which a heat exchange medium flows, is defined between the housing and the battery pack, a driving fan mounted in the housing for driving the heat exchange medium to flow, and a heat exchange unit mounted at one side of the housing for controlling the temperature of the heat exchange medium. In the heat exchange system according to the present invention, the heat exchange medium, for example, air is not introduced from the outside of the battery system, but is circulated in the battery system by the heat exchange unit. Consequently, the present invention has the effect of accomplishing the reduction in size of the battery system, reducing influences caused by external conditions, decreasing noise, and effectively controlling the optimum operating temperature of the battery pack.

A process for controlling temperature of a battery pack includes operating a fan to change a battery temperature to an optimal range of temperature (T) when a condition is satisfied that the battery temperature is equal to or greater than a maximum acceptable temperature (T) or when the battery temperature is equal to or less than a minimum acceptable temperature (T) and, at the same time, when the difference between a battery temperature (T) and an air temperature (T) of air is equal to or greater than a critical temperature (T), and operating the fan to change the battery temperature to an optimal range of temperature variation (T) of each unit cell when the battery temperature does not satisfy the condition, and a temperature variation (T) of each unit cell is equal to or greater than a predetermined critical temperature (T). According to the present invention, the operation of the fan is minimized, and therefore, optimal battery operation is accomplished while unnecessary power consumption is reduced. Furthermore, the temperature deviation between the unit cells is reduced, and therefore, the operation of the overall battery system is optimized.
