A superconductor magnetic field effect transistor. The superconductor magnetic field effect transistor may include a sheet of a superconducting material; and a solenoid. The sheet may be substantially flat, and the solenoid may include a plurality of turns, each of the turns being substantially parallel to the sheet. The superconducting material may be a type-II superconducting material.

A radar system includes a transmit section to emit a transmit signal. A chip-based front-end portion of the transmit section increases a frequency of an input signal to produce an intermediate signal and amplifies signal strength of the intermediate signal to produce the transmit signal. The frequency of the input signal is in a range of 76 gigahertz (GHz) to 80 GHz. The radar system also includes a receive section to receive a reflected signal resulting from reflection of the transmit signal by an object.

A circuit for driving a switched transistor comprises: a level shifter comprising at least one transistor, the level shifter configured to convert an input pulse to a pulse having a greater voltage swing than the input pulse and shift a voltage level of the converted pulse; and a pulse shaping filter coupled between the level shifter and the gate of the switched transistor, the pulse shaping filter tuned to cancel or reduce an impedance of the gate of the switched transistor. The switched transistor and/or the at least one transistor are a GaN High Electron Mobility Transistor (HEMT).

A method and apparatus for dynamically modifying filter characteristics of a Delta-Sigma modulator to accommodate for Doppler shift. A transceiver in a wireless cellular communication system for adapt to changes in the RF carrier frequency for maintaining signal integrity by applying a pilot tone in calibration to determine a frequency shift response for a bandpass filter. During operation, the system is operative to determine a Doppler shift and to shift the bandpass filter in response.

Dynamic frequency correction in delta-sigma based software defined receiver

Several embodiments of an envelope tracking active circulator is disclosed with a method to cascade them. In an active transistor based circulator (active circulator), gate (base) and drain (collector) bias voltage can be adjusted by RF or microwave input envelop signal. This is called envelop tracking active circulator. In this concept, input RF signal is detected by detection circuit, such as detection diode or coupler and converted into low frequency envelop signal by the proper filtering circuitry. The generated envelop signal controls the supply voltage of the drain and gate with the proper function of the envelop signal to improve active circulator insertion loss, isolation and power handling capability. This concept can be applied to any type of solid-state FET (Field effect transistor) transistor based active circulator, as long as they have bias dependent trans-conductance and capacitances inside. For a BJT (bipolar junction transistor) based active circulator, base bias current supply modulator will be used instead of voltage supply modulator.

Envelope tracking active circulator

A single-chip tunable bandpass filter is provided having a bandpass filter circuit with all tuning components for the bandpass filter circuit formed on the single-chip to provide a programmed center frequency for the tunable bandpass filter. The bandpass filter circuit may include, but is not limited to, a plurality of serially coupled singe stage biquad filter circuits coupled to an input formed on the single-chip and configured to provide a bandpass filtered output signal to an output formed on the single-chip. The bandpass filtered output may be provided by an output buffer formed on the single-chip. The single-chip includes at least one tuning input to receive data for tuning stored in a data register formed on the single-chip. The data register provides control bits to the tuning components that include a programmable resistor responsive to the control bits to vary the programmable resistor to adjust programmed center frequency.

Tunable bandpass filter

A method and apparatus for temperature compensation for data converters in a software defined radio. Specifically, the system and method are teach monitoring the temperature of critical signal processing components such as band pass filters, ADCs and DACs and retrieving modulator coefficients in response to the temperatures and the like. The modulator coefficients are then used to compensate for temperature changes, performance changes and the like.

Method and apparatus for temperature compensation for data converters for automobile applications

An electronic circuit comprising: an integrated circuit chip, the integrated circuit chip having a top face; portions of the top face of the chip being covered by a first metal layer electrically connected to the integrated circuit; and a dialectic layer formed on the top face of the chip beside and on top of said first metal layer; wherein the dielectric layer extends parallel to the top face of the chip beyond the edges of the chip, the first metal layer extending in the dielectric layer beyond the edges of the chip; and wherein portions of a top surface of the dielectric layer are covered by a second metal layer, portions of the first and second metal layers being electrically connected through the dielectric layer.

Method and apparatus for hybrid delta-sigma and Nyquist data converters

A multi-port active circulator where each of a plurality of FET transistors has (i) a gate connected to an associated port of the multi-port active circulator via a capacitor of an associated one of a plurality of first RF chokes, each of the first RF chokes being connected to a gate of an associated FET transistor of said plurality of transistors, the associated port of said associated FET transistor and to a power supply bias connection; (ii) a source connected to a common point; and (iii) a drain connected to the gate of the same FET transistor by a feedback circuit and connected to the gate of a neighboring FET transistor via a capacitor of one of a plurality of second RF chokes, each of which coupling gates and drains of neighboring FET transistors via capacitors thereof and being connected to another power supply bias connection.
