A display device includes a display panel. The display panel includes sub-pixels. A driver converts first frame data corresponding to a first pixel arrangement of the sub-pixels into second frame data corresponding to a second pixel arrangement and provides data signals corresponding to second frame data to the sub-pixels having the second pixel arrangement. The driver includes a padding circuit and a rendering circuit. The padding circuit converts the first frame data into padding data by adding a padding value to at least one of a front end and a rear end of each line data of the first frame data. The rendering circuit generates the second frame data by applying a rendering filter to the padding data.

Display device

A display device includes: a pixel; a grayscale converter that applies a compensation value to generate an output grayscale; and a controller that provides a data voltage corresponding to the output grayscale to the pixel. The grayscale converter generates first stress value and second stress value based on the output grayscale, adds the first stress value to a first stress accumulation value to which a first accumulation coefficient is applied to update the first stress accumulation value, adds the second stress value to a second stress accumulation value to which a second accumulation coefficient is applied to update the second stress accumulation value, and generates the compensation value based on the first stress accumulation value and the second stress accumulation value. The first accumulation coefficient and the second accumulation coefficient are different from each other.

Display device and driving method thereof

A display device including: a pixel unit including first pixels disposed in a first pixel area and second pixels disposed in a second pixel area; an image data corrector adjusting a limit grayscale of first image data corresponding to the first pixel area based on a dimming level defining a maximum luminance at which the pixel unit is able to emit light, and correcting the first image data based on the limit grayscale; a data driver supplying data signals to the pixel unit based on the corrected first image data and second image data corresponding to the second pixel area; and a scan driver supplying scan signals to the pixel unit.

Image data corrector and display device having the same

A display device includes: a pixel unit including first pixels disposed in a first pixel area and second pixels disposed in a second pixel area; an image data corrector adjusting a limit grayscale of first image data corresponding to the first pixel area based on a dimming level defining a maximum luminance at which the pixel unit is able to emit light, and correcting the first image data based on the limit grayscale; a data driver supplying data signals to the pixel unit based on the corrected first image data and second image data corresponding to the second pixel area; and a scan driver supplying scan signals to the pixel unit.

A display device includes dots and a grayscale correction unit. Each dot among the dots includes a first pixel of a first color, a second pixel of a second color, and a third pixel of a third color. The grayscale correction unit is configured to generate corrected grayscale values for a target dot via application of weights to grayscale values of the target dot and grayscale values of neighboring dots of the target dot among the dots. The grayscale correction unit is configured to determine the weights based on the grayscale values of the target dot.

Display device having a grayscale correction unit utilizing weighting

A display device includes pixels, a controller, and a data driver. The controller selects a target pixel among the pixels and generates an adjusted gray level for the target pixel based on gray levels corresponding to the target pixel and relevant pixels neighboring the target pixel. The data driver generates a data signal for the target pixel based on the adjusted gray level. The target pixel, at least one of the relevant pixels, and at least one of the pixels of the display device respectively emit light of three colors different from each other. Four mixed colors are different from each other and are each a mixture of at least two of the three colors. The controller generates the adjusted gray level using reference coefficients for at least one of the three colors and for at least one of the four mixed colors.

An organic light emitting display device includes: a display unit including a plurality of pixels each coupled to a first scan line, a second scan line, and a data line; a scan driver configured to supply, to the display unit, a plurality of first scan pulses corresponding to a bias period and a second scan pulse corresponding to a data write period after the bias period through the respective first and second scan lines; an emission driver configured to supply an emission control signal to the display unit through emission control lines; a data driver configured to supply a data voltage to the display unit through the data lines; and a power supply configured to commonly supply, to the pixels, an initialization voltage, the initialization voltage having a voltage level switching between a first voltage level and a second voltage level in a preset period.

Organic light emitting display device and method for driving the same

A display device includes: a memory configured to store an over-driving lookup table and previous frame block data generated by block averaging previous frame data; an over-driver configured to obtain current frame data from input image data and to generate over-driving frame data for the current frame data by comparing the previous frame block data and the current frame data with reference to the over-driving lookup table; a data driver configured to generate an over-driven data signal based on the over-driving frame data; and a plurality of pixels configured to display an image based on the over-driven data signal, wherein the over-driver is configured to perform an over-driving based on a size of a block divided for the block averaging.

A display device driven in one of a first mode and a second mode includes a first pixel area which includes first pixels, a second pixel area which includes the second pixels, a first boundary area which is included in the second pixel area and to be positioned between boundary portions of the first pixel area and the second pixel area, and a luminance controller which controls first boundary data corresponding to the first boundary area so that luminance of the first boundary area is gradually changed corresponding to a first data signal applied to the first pixels and the second pixels when the display device is driven in the second mode.
