A LAN/USB bridge apparatus is provided. The LAN/USB bridge apparatus includes a wireless LAN/USB signal processor and a controller. The wireless LAN/USB signal processor receives a wireless LAN signal transmitted from a wireless LAN access point performing a bridging function between a wired LAN and a wireless LAN, transforms the received wireless LAN signal a UWB (ultra wide band) signal, and transmits the UWB signal to at least one of wireless USB apparatuses. A wireless USB host apparatus supporting UWB is disclosed. The wireless USB host apparatus allocates a Media Access Slot of USB super frame to each of a plurality of wireless USB devices to transmit the real-time audio/video data as well as command data, control data and non real-time data through a single transmission channel. Also, the wireless USB host apparatus uses the ultra wide band to exchange data with the plurality of wireless USB devices to support the data transfer rate of about 53.3 to 480 Mbps, guarantees the QoS and supports transmission of the real-time audio/video data.

An apparatus for collision resolution among home networking stations using carrier sense. More specifically, an apparatus for collision resolution among home networking stations using Media Access Control (MAC) in the HomePNA 2.0 specification for constructing home networks is provided. The apparatus provides collision resolution to a larger number of stations than the number of stations protected by the HomePNA specification. In addition, the apparatus prevents the generation of errors caused by incorrect calculation of the number of back-off signals in the case of a carrier sense signal.

A CardBus PC Card type wireless transmitting/receiving device performs a wireless data transmission/reception operation between a plurality of notebook PCs and an MB-OFDM (Multiband Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) UWB (Ultra Wide Band) type piconet coordinator. The device includes a wireless 1394 device, built in the notebook PC in the form of a CardBus PC Card, for converting a CardBus PC Card access signal of the notebook PC into an MB-OFDM UWB signal to transmit the converted MB-OFDM UWB signal, and inversely converting a received MB-OFDM UWB signal into a CardBus PC Card access signal of the notebook PC. The device can easily be built in a notebook PC, has a simple structure with a low cost, has a very high wireless transmission speed of 55 to 480 Mbps in comparison to the existing IEEE 802.11b type wireless 1394 bridge device in the form of an external IEEE 1394 adapter, and guarantees the QoS (Quality of Service) using the IEEE802.15.3 type MAC to provide a high-quality service to users.

A burst mode optical receiver using two amplifiers having different bandwidth. The receiver includes an optical coupler separating an input optical signal into two parts and outputting the same, a delay circuit formed of a first optical fiber delaying an optical signal packet outputted through the optical coupler by a half of packet duration and a second optical fiber passing the optical signal packet without delay, and a first pre-amplifier having a high bandwidth for receiving an optical signal from the first optical fiber and amplifying the same and a second pre-amplifier having a low bandwidth for receiving an optical signal from the second optical fiber and amplifying the same, for thereby improving a receiving sensitivity without using a preamble bit.
