A cover window of a flexible display device includes a base substrate including an out-folding area, an in-folding area, and peripheral areas disposed on opposing sides of at least one of the out-folding area and the in-folding area, a first hard coating layer at a top surface of the base substrate, the first hard coating layer having a substantially uniform thickness, and a second hard coating layer at a bottom surface of the base substrate opposite to the top surface, the second hard coating layer having a thickness different from the thickness of the first hard coating layer. A thickness of a first area of the second hard coating layer that overlaps with the out-folding area and the in-folding area of the base substrate is less than a thickness of a second area of the second hard coating layer that overlaps with the peripheral areas of the base substrate.

A method for fabricating window member may include preparing a transparent polymer film, disposing a light curable adhesive layer on a surface of the transparent polymer film, disposing a transparent substrate on the light curable adhesive layer, the transparent substrate including a transmitting region and a non-transmitting region, and curing the light curable adhesive layer by light irradiation. The light curable adhesive layer may include a transparent adhesive. A storage modulus of the transparent adhesive may be greater than or equal to about 10Pa to less than about 10Pa at room temperature before curing, and greater than or equal to about 10Pa at room temperature after curing.

A method for fabricating a window member is provided. A transparent substrate including a transmitting region and a non-transmitting region may be prepared. A light curable adhesive layer may be disposed on the transparent substrate. A plurality of micro patterns may be disposed on the transparent substrate or the light curable adhesive layer in the non-transmitting region. The light curable adhesive layer may be cured by light irradiation. The light curable adhesive layer may include a transparent adhesive. A storage modulus of the transparent adhesive may be greater than or equal to about 10Pa and less than about 10Pa at room temperature before curing, and greater than or equal to about 10Pa at room temperature after curing.

A liquid crystal display includes an upper substrate, a lower substrate, and a liquid crystal layer interposed between the upper substrate and the lower substrate. The upper substrate includes a first insulating substrate, a transparent conductive layer on the first insulating substrate, and a first polarizer on the transparent conductive layer. The lower substrate includes a second insulating substrate, a second polarizer on the second insulating substrate, and a thin film transistor layer. The second insulating substrate is between the thin film transistor layer and the second polarizer. The transparent conductive layer allows an electric field to be formed on the first polarizer, so that a position signal input unit, which contacts the first polarizer, is capacitively coupled with the transparent conductive layer.

A light sensing panel includes a scan line transmitting a scan signal, a power source line transmitting a bias voltage, a readout line transmitting a light sensing signal and a light sensing device. The light sensing device includes a control electrode that is electrically connected to the scan line to receive the scan signal, a first current electrode that is electrically connected to the power source line to receive the bias voltage, and a second current electrode that is electrically connected to the readout line to apply a light sensing signal to the readout line when the light sensing signal senses an external light. The light sensing panel requires only one thin film transistor in order to detect a position wherein the external light is incident. Therefore, electrical coupling between devices is reduced and aperture ratio is increased, thereby enhancing a display quality.

A liquid crystal display apparatus comprising a liquid crystal display panel and a touch panel is disclosed. A first transparent electrode is disposed on an upper surface of the liquid crystal display panel for displaying an image. A second transparent electrode is disposed on a lower surface of a retardation member and the second transparent electrode is opposite to the first transparent electrode. Accordingly, the entire thickness of the liquid crystal display apparatus may be decreased, and the manufacturing cost of the liquid crystal display apparatus may be reduced.

In a light sensing element having simplified structure, an array substrate having the light sensing element and an LCD apparatus having the light sensing element, the light sensing element includes a first electrode, a control electrode and a second electrode. An alternating bias voltage is applied to the first electrode. An off voltage is applied to the control electrode. The second electrode outputs a light-induced leakage current based on an externally provided light and the bias voltage. Therefore, the array substrate includes one light sensing switching element corresponding to one pixel so that structure of the array substrate is simplified and opening ratio is increased.

An image display system includes a light pen to generate light to input data, and a display panel to display images in response to the light provided from the light pen. The display panel includes a first substrate on which pixel electrodes are formed, a second substrate on which a common electrode are formed, and a photo-sensor formed on the first substrate. The photo-sensor detects the light provided from the light pen to generate a light detect signal. The image display system also includes a driving module to provide new image data to the display panel to display new images in response to the light detect signal from the photo-sensor.
