A projection type image display apparatus includes: a cabinet; a screen which is provided in the cabinet; a display device which is placed inside the cabinet and forms an image; and an optical system which projects an image formed by the display device to the screen and comprises at least one mirror, a supporter for supporting the mirror, and a frame through which the supporter is fastened to the cabinet, all of the mirror, the supporter and the frame being disposed within a single interior space formed by the cabinet and the screen.

A projection-type display apparatus and a display method thereof are disclosed, the projection-type display apparatus including a coated portion which is formed on a surface of a substrate, and which scans a video onto a screen, and a patterned portion which is formed on another surface of the substrate in a serrated pattern, wherein the serrated pattern is formed on the substrate according to the surface area of the patterned portion and the depth of the serrated pattern. A serrated pattern is formed on a substrate forming a reflective portion to reflect a video on a screen, so the cooling surface area of the substrate is increased, thereby compensating for distortions in video scanned onto the screen.

Projection-type display apparatus and display method thereof

A thin projection type image display device with a low chin height includes a cabinet, a screen, a projection optical system, an optical path changing unit, and a reflecting unit. The screen is disposed on a front side of the cabinet. The projection optical system enlarges and projects an image formed by a display element, and the optical path changing unit is disposed on the bottom of the cabinet to reflect the image enlarged and projected by the projection optical system. The reflection unit is disposed obliquely to the screen and below the screen to reflect the image reflected by the optical path changing unit toward the screen. The projection optical system is disposed in a space above a horizontal plane perpendicular to the screen, behind the front side of the cabinet, and below an optical path of light incident on a bottom of the screen.

A liquid crystal display and method for controlling brightness of an image on a liquid crystal display are provided, in which, a liquid crystal display panel displays an image, a light generating unit provides a laser beam to illuminate the liquid crystal display panel, a scanning unit scans the liquid crystal display panel with the laser beam, and a controller controls a speed of the scanning unit depending on a brightness of the image. Thus, the liquid crystal display is capable of improving a contrast of an image displayed on a liquid crystal panel using a laser as a backlight.

An optical projection system which creates pincushion distortion of an image and then creates a barrel distortion of the pincushion-distorted image to compensate for the pincushion distortion and then projects an enlarged image without substantial distortion onto an image display surface. An embodiment includes a polynomial reflector to compensate for the pincushion distortion, to enlarge an image, and to project the enlarged image toward a screen.

A screen for a projection display is provided. The screen includes a Fresnel lens sheet which converges light emitted from a light source, and a lenticular lens sheet which disperses in a horizontal direction the light transmitted by the Fresnel lens sheet. Integrated circuit devices and methods of operating same include a delayed locked loop (DLL) circuit that can be operated at a high frequency during a normal operation mode and during a test mode. The test mode may be, for example, for performing burn-in testing. For example, an integrated circuit device may include a DLL control circuit that generates a control signal that is responsive to a test mode signal. An oscillator circuit may generate a clock signal that is responsive to the test mode signal. This clock signal may be a high frequency clock signal, such as that used to drive a DLL circuit during a normal operation mode. A DLL circuit, which is responsive to the clock signal, may be configured to operate in either a test mode or a normal operation mode based on the control signal. By generating the clock signal at a high frequency, the DLL circuit may be evaluated during burn-in testing, for example, under conditions that are comparable to conditions during normal operation.
