Disclosed pressure sensitive adhesive compositions, having enhanced heat resistance, obtained by the emulsion polymerization of (a) one or more acrylic acid ester or (meth)acrylate acid ester(s), (b) one or more hydroxyl functional (meth)acrylic monomer and (c) one or more ureido substituted (meth)acrylate monomers(s).

Pressure sensitive adhesive compositions and methods for preparing same

A pressure sensitive adhesive composition is described. The pressure sensitive adhesive composition includes a polymerization product of a monomer mixture. The monomer mixture includes the following components: (a) at least one alkyl ester of (meth)acrylic acid or cyclic hydrocarbon acrylates; (b) at least one vinyl ester of a C-Ccarboxylic acid; (c) at least one hydroxyl functional (meth)acrylate monomer, or at least one epoxy functional (meth)acrylate monomer; (d) at least one ureido substituted ethylenically unsaturated monomer; and one or more optional monomer components (e)-(g). The pressure sensitive adhesive composition provides a desirable combination of low and high temperature performance, and good adhesion to both metal and organic polymer surfaces.

Disclosed are removable pressure sensitive adhesive compositions (PSAs) useful with facestocks and/or packaging labels designed to be removed in the recycling of polymeric packaging. The PSAs of the invention include (a) at least one monomer which may undergo free radical polymerization and whose homopolymer has a glass transition temperature of less than or equal to 10&#xb0; C., (b) at least one mono-olefinically unsaturated monomer having aldehyde or ketone functionality, and (c) an effective amount of at least one polyhydrazide crosslinker having hydrazine functionality. The PSA composition of the invention exhibits a peel adhesion value of between about 0.4 lbs/in (70 N/m) and about 4 lbs/in (700 N/m), and the percent film remaining on the polymeric packaging after a sink-float testing is 0% to about 8%.

Pressure sensitive adhesive compositions

A labeled package includes a polymeric package, a filmic facestock material as a label on the polymeric package, and a pressure sensitive adhesive adhering the filmic facestock material to the polymeric package. The pressure sensitive adhesive composition includes a monomer mixture, which includes at least one monomer that is free radical polymerizable and whose homopolymer has a glass transition temperature of less than or equal to 10&#xb0; C.; at least one mono-olefinically unsaturated monomer having aldehyde or ketone functionality; and at least one polyhydrazide crosslinker having hydrazine functionality.

Pressure sensitive adhesive compositons

Disclosed are pressure sensitive adhesive compositions having enhanced water resistance and adhesion properties, which compositions include 70-99 wt % of an acrylic polymer dispersion and 1-30 wt % of a polyolefin dispersion. The acrylic polymer dispersion includes (1) one or more acrylic acid ester or (meth)acrylate acid ester(s), (2) one or more hydrocarbon monomer(s), (3) one or more ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid(s), (4) one or more nitrile(s) or amide(s) of an ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid(s), (5) one or more vinyl ester(s) of a carboxylic acid(s), optionally (6) one or more nitrogen containing acetoacetoxy functional compound(s), and optionally (7) one or more mercaptan chain transfer agent(s), and the polyolefin dispersion includes one or more polyolefins, which may or may not contain acid functionality.

An electronic musical instrument includes a linear voltage divider network including a plurality of equal series resistance elements for generating a first output voltage as a function of the state of a plurality of tone select keys. This first voltage is converted to a second voltage which selectively varies exponentially as a function of the selected tone. The second voltage is compared with a ramp generator output to set and reset a latch which generates an audio frequency signal thereby. The audio frequency signal is coupled to an octave generator controlled by octave select keys for outputting the tone in a selected octave for output as sound via a speaker. Sharp and flat keys are also provided to cause the first voltage to vary in a way which emulates the functioning of a standard keyboard.
