Disclosed is an apparatus and method for managing a battery that may manage a surrounding environment and a usage history of the battery. The battery management apparatus senses a temperature of an environment to which the battery is exposed, and stores a period of time during which the battery is exposed to a high temperature when the sensed temperature corresponds to a preset first or second area. In this instance, the battery management apparatus may determine whether the battery is simply exposed to the high temperature or the battery is charged or discharged while exposed to the high temperature, and store a usage time together. According to the present disclosure, information about a time domain affecting the life or performance of the battery may be calculated in consideration of the temperature environment to which the battery is exposed.

Apparatus and method for managing battery application environment and usage history

Disclosed is a secondary battery management apparatus including a current control switch for opening and closing the flow of charge or discharge current of a secondary battery; a connector for selectively providing a power conducting state and a power cutoff state based on whether the apparatus is connected to a charge/discharge device; a communication terminal for providing a communication interface with the charge/discharge device; a power supply for receiving power from the secondary battery and supplying the received power to a component that requires electrical power; a power supply line including a power supply switch; a switch controller for detecting the reception of a communication request signal through the communication terminal during connection to the charge/discharge device through the connector and transmitting a turn-on signal to the power supply switch; and a controller connected to the power supply and initiating or terminating a management operation for the battery.

Apparatus for managing secondary battery

Disclosed is a method and system for allocating identifiers to multi-slaves in a battery pack. The method for allocating identifiers, in which a master battery management system (BMS) allocates identifiers to N (N is an integer of 2 or above) number of slave BMSs through a communication network, includes (a) by each slave BMS, generating an initial identifier by combining digital voltage measurement values of battery cells included in a battery module managed by the slave BMS and transmitting the initial identifier to a master BMS; and (b) by the master BMS, allocating identifiers again according to the initial identifier received from each slave BMS and then transmitting the identifiers to slave BMSs. Therefore, it is possible to allocate identifiers without inputting an identifier to a multi-slave BMS in advance or using a separate hardware configuration.

Method and system for allocating identifiers to multi-slave in battery pack

The control system according to the present disclosure integratedly manages a plurality of solar cell lighting apparatuses, each solar cell lighting apparatus including a light emitting source to emit light by a discharge power of a secondary battery and a control unit to adjust a magnitude of the discharge power, and includes a main control unit to collect charge capacity information of each of the secondary batteries included in the plurality of solar cell lighting apparatuses from the control unit of each of the plurality of solar cell lighting apparatuses, determine at least one solar cell lighting apparatus needed to control a light intensity based on the charge capacity collected from the secondary batteries, and output a light intensity control signal to the control unit of the determined solar cell lighting apparatus, to achieve charge capacity balancing of the secondary batteries.
