A display device includes: a pixel; a scan driver configured to supply a scan signal to the pixel through a scan line; an emission driver configured to supply an emission control signal comprising a plurality of gate-on level signals to the pixel through an emission control line in one frame, the plurality of gate-on level signals for generating emission periods of the pixel; a data driver configured to supply a data signal to the pixel through a data line; and a controller configured to control a waveform of the emission control signal, wherein a length of a first emission period of the emission periods is longer than a length of another emission period of the emission periods.

Display device

Provided herein may be a display device and a driving method thereof. The display device may include a pixel area including multiple pixels, a timing controller configured to generate a control signal based on an input image, a data driver configured to supply a data voltage to data lines coupled to the pixel area depending on the control signal, a scan driver configured to supply scan signals to scan lines coupled to the pixel area depending on the control signal, and a power manager configured to supply an initialization voltage for initializing the multiple pixels and a first supply voltage for driving the multiple pixels to the pixel area. The power manager senses a voltage change in the first supply voltage supplied to the pixel area, and changes the first supply voltage and supplies the same to the pixel area in order to compensate for the sensed voltage change.

There is provided a method for setting black data of a display device and a display device employing the same. In the method for setting black data of the display device including a display unit for displaying an image corresponding to data, the method includes: applying data having a test voltage to the display unit; measuring a luminance of a test image displayed in the display unit; and when the measured luminance is a reference luminance or less, setting first black data, based on the test voltage.

A display device includes first pixels positioned in a first pixel area, second pixels positioned in a second pixel area that has a different width from a width of the first pixel area, and a data compensating unit configured to compensate for image data. The data compensating unit sets a first compensation area and a second compensation area that is different from the first compensation area, and compensates for the image data corresponding to the first compensation area on a first block unit basis, and compensates for the image data corresponding to the second compensation area on a second block unit basis that is different from the first block unit basis, and the first compensation area includes the second pixel area.
