An electronic device according to one embodiment of the present disclosure may include a plurality of antennas for transmitting and receiving radio waves, at least one sensor for sensing a physical quantity or physical changes, a sensor hub for outputting a control signal in response to an output from the at least one sensor, and a communication module for controlling wireless communication using the plurality of antennas in response to the control signal. Provided is a portable terminal with a variable ground unit. The portable terminal includes a main board including a ground layer having a predetermined area; at least one antenna radiator placed at the main board; at least one conductor installed or formed in the terminal and spaced apart from the ground layer; at least one switching unit interposed between the at least one conductor and the ground layer, the switching unit selectively connecting the conductor to the ground layer through an electrical connection unit; and a controller controlling the switching unit so that the conductor and the ground layer of the main board are selectively electrically connected depending on a state of the terminal.

A diversity antenna apparatus for a portable wireless terminal is provided with a main body having a main board installed therein and a folder electrically connected to the main board by a flexible printed data cable so as to be rotatably opened from and closed into the main body. The antenna apparatus includes a first antenna protruding from first side of an upper end of the main body so as to perform a transmitting and receiving function and a second antenna installed on a second side of an upper end of the main board and separated from the first antenna so as to perform a diversity receiving function. The diversity antenna is separated from the antenna apparatus by a sufficient distance, thereby improving a diversity effect. Further, the diversity antenna is installed within a space in the main body of the terminal, thereby not requiring a structural change and being easily installed in the portable wireless terminal.
