A bridge-based cellular Ethernet system and a handover processing method therefore are provided. In the bridge-based cellular Ethernet system, an HLR manages configuration information about network entities, and a plurality of Base Station Bridges (BSBs) are connected to a plurality of Base Stations (BSs), each BSB including a layer 2 switch, and a plurality of SCBs connected to part of the BSBs under the SCBs. Each SCB includes a layer 2 switch forming a core network, and SCB monitors the signal power of a Mobile Node (MN) within its service area, determines whether the MN is to move to another site, selects a new SCB to which the MN is to move, sends necessary path information to associated SCBs and the HLR, for setting of the path information in the associated SCBs and the HLR, and commands a handover to the MN.

Bridge-based cellular ethernet system and handover processing method therefor

A bridge-based RAS backbone network system and a signal processing method therefor are provided. In the bridge-based RAS backbone network system, a plurality of BSBs with Layer 2 (L2) switches are connected to a plurality of RASs, and a plurality of SCBs with L2 switches are connected to part of the BSBs in a lower layer, forming a core network. An HLR manages configuration information of network entities by storing the IP addresses and MAC addresses of MNs within the network and the addresses of SCBs to which the MNs belong in a table. Each of the SCBs statically preserves the MAC address of an external default router, for relaying an egress frame, statically registers its individual MAC address in other SCBs in the core network beforehand, detects a destination MN through the HLR, and sends a frame to the SCB of the destination MN or the MAC address of the external default router.

Bridge-based radio access station backbone network system and signal processing method therefor

A method of treating signals in a bridge-based radio access station backbone network including a plurality of base station bridges (BSBs), with each BSB having a 2-tiered switch connected with a plurality of radio access stations. A plurality of SCBs (Site Core Bridges), each of having a 2-tiered switch for constituting the core network, includes the steps of buffering by the SCB a predetermined number of previously-transmitted frames when operating as a crossover bridge, and causing the SCB to retransmit selected ones of the buffered previously-transmitted frames to a terminal in response to a handover completion signal.

Bridge-based radio access station backbone network and a method of treating signals thereof

A method of treating a handover in a bridge-based radio access station backbone network including a plurality of base station bridges each including a two-tiered switch connected with a plurality of radio access stations, a plurality of SCBs (Site Core Bridges) each composed of two-tiered switch for constituting the core network, and an HLR (Home Location Register) for managing the structural information of the network constituents. The SCB stores the terminal information containing the receiving address of the initial terminal registration message and the SCB to delete the terminal information in response to a disconnection message of the terminal caused by handover, to request the SCBs in the terminal end of the old MAC-in-MAC tunnel to delete the tunnel information and the terminal information, and to inform the HLR of initiating the handover to change the registered operational state of the terminal.

Method of treating handover in a bridge-based radio access station backbone network

Disclosed is a Residential Ethernet node apparatus for maintaining a starting point of a superframe, the Residential Ethernet node apparatus comprising a synchronous queue for receiving and temporarily storing synchronous data, in order to transmit the synchronous data by inserting the synchronous data into a transmission cycle, a parser for receiving asynchronous frames from at least one exterior source, parsing the asynchronous frames according to characteristics of the asynchronous frames, a plurality of the asynchronous queues for separately storing the asynchronous frames received from the parser according to the characteristics of the asynchronous frames, a scheduler for receiving the asynchronous frames from the asynchronous queues, and transmitting the received asynchronous frame when it is possible to transmit the received asynchronous frame, and a multiplexer, which receives a synchronous frame from the synchronous queue and an asynchronous frame from the scheduler so as to transmit the synchronous frame and asynchronous frame in a form of a transmission cycle while maintaining a starting point of a superframe.

Residential ethernet node apparatus for maintaining starting point of superframe and method for processing same

Disclosed is a method for constructing a frame of data for transmission by each Ethernet device in a synchronous Ethernet, which comprising the steps of receiving the data for transmission and confirming whether or not the data for transmission are synchronous data, when the received data are synchronous data, marking that the data are synchronous data in a preamble of the frame and constructing a synchronous frame by including the received data into a data portion of the frame which does not contain a MAC header and when the received data are asynchronous data, marking that the data are asynchronous data in the preamble of the frame and constructing an asynchronous frame by including the received data into a data portion of the frame containing a MAC header.

Data frame construction method and data processing method according to data frame in synchronous Ethernet

A method and apparatus for transmitting data from an optical network unit (ONU) to an optical line termination (OLT) in a Gigabit Ethernet passive optical network (GE-PON) on the basis of a time division multiple access (TDMA) scheme are provided. A measurement of a data transmission time when the data is transmitted to the OLT is obtained, and the measured data transmission time is compared with a predetermined normal transmission time. The transmission of the data is maintained if the measured data transmission time is determined to be less than or equal to the normal transmission time from the comparison result. However, if the measured data transmission time is determined to be greater than the normal transmission time, the transmission of the data is stopped.

Method and apparatus for transmitting data in Gigabit Ethernet passive optical network

An asynchronous data segmentation/transmission method for synchronous Ethernet and a data structure used therein are disclosed. The asynchronous data segmentation/transmission method can segment and transmit asynchronous data such that the asynchronous data can be transmitted through a transmission frame for each transmission cycle. The method for synchronous Ethernet includes the steps of: a) comparing a size (L) of asynchronous data to be transmitted with a size (L) of transmission space vacant in an asynchronous frame part of a transmission frame, b) inserting the asynchronous data to be transmitted into the transmission space if the size (L) of the asynchronous data is equal to or less than the size (L) of the transmission space, and c), if the size (L) of the asynchronous data is larger than the size (L) of the transmission space, segmenting the asynchronous data to fit the size (L) of the transmission space to insert the segmented asynchronous data thereto, and inserting remaining asynchronous data (L-L) into a next transmission frame. The transmission frame includes a More flag field for indicating asynchronous data segmentation/transmission.

Asynchronous data segmentation/transmission method for synchronous Ethernet and data structure used therein

A method for checking whether a transmission is a multicast transmission or not is disclosed, which includes in an Ethernet passive optical network including an OLT and multiple ONUs connected to the OLT, checking whether a transmission is a multicast transmission or not by generating a multicast LLID that represents multicast information. Subsequently from a multicast MAC address in a MAC layer in the multiple ONUs or the OLT, so that at least one ONU from among the multiple ONUs or the OLT receives the multicast transmission, the method comprising the steps of: (1) modifying the multicast MAC address and mapping the modified address to a LLID field in a RS layer below the MAC layer; and (2) generating mode information, which represents a multicast transmission, being adjacent to the LLID field and locating the mode information, wherein, the RS layer checks whether a transmission transmitted to the ONU or the OLT is a multicast transmission or not.
